ASAKIWe spent billions upon billions of dollars and lost thousands of lives to fight, only for all of that to result in absolutely nothing because there was no plan of actual reconstruction in the country to make sure the region became stable.
How did we do this with f***ing Germany after WWII but not Afghanistan?
Useless war that was caused literally by ourselves because the government is full of greedy imperialists and warmongers and made the terrible decision to put all our chips on Saudi Arabia out of all the f***ing countries in the Middle East.
i think that was part of the issue, the US thought they could do what they did with Germany in Afghanistan without realizing how incredibly different the societies were/are. a case of extreme hubris/ignorance of circumstance

We were never going to beat the Taliban anyways, the mountainous ranges in Afghanistan makes it hard for organized military and the US is notorious for losing to the Vietnamese for the same reasons.
US never wanted to beat Taliban.
Hopefully afghan women will keep their rights to sing.
