Flocka,Scooter, Thug and Longway were signed there at one time. Not to mention Zaytoven and Lex Luger.

They all got bigger once they left Gucci and their tenure with the label was short lived.

Peep is a legend but I see what you mean

Bruh Peep isn’t a legend lol. That’s incredibly disrespectful to actual legends.

Imagine putting Lil Peep in the same sentence as Ye and Jay and Pac and Outkast and other actual legends.

Not true ( Flocka). Besides they would not be where they are now if it wasnt for 1017

it will never be accepted because it's tied to that guy lol leave it be

Yeah the perception of OVO would be very different if not connected to drake. People expect it to be a super star factory because the biggest star is associated

Really it’s mainly Oliver and 40 taste bringing unknown Canadians acts through and sustaining very good careers + a lot of good music.

Flocka.left about a year after he started to get his own buzz.

Gucci helped them.all get exposure but Thugga was a star. Migos had it. They were gonna be what they became regardless.

Idk if the paperwork was even valid in these "deals". They were all happy to be down and working with Gucci.

Being signed to Gucci def helped thug with his credibility. You must have forgot his initial reception lol. Besides it wasnt like Guwop snatched up thug bc he was already popping... Longway plugged him bc him and thug are from the same hood and he could rap.

OVO is a label for the writers and producers who create for Drake.

You will never blow on OVO.

Cause your best s*** goes to Aubrey and your promotion is only through features on Drake albums.

i'm trying to grasp your definition of "blow"? a few posts above you named Griselda. i'm not too familiar with them, what are they doing right in comparison to OVO?

also people can say what they want about the artists, but you'd be hard-pressed to find an album without 1da or 85 on it. Party is getting plenty of work too. I just don't see how that gets downplayed simply because Drake is involved but you might have some insight on it.

I'm just saying, Gucci wasnt a good businessman back then and as a result his label doesnt have a roster of stars or any classic records to come out of it.

Imagine if he had actually signed Thug, Dolph, Longway and Migos and kept it all together.

I agree that would be crazy BUT Flockavelli is a certified classic

    OVO is not Griselda.

These are artists signed to.the biggest rapper in the world.

Their profile should be way bigger but they get no push, no development.

It functions as an boutique label where Drake gets to cherry pick which songs he wants for himself.

Party made a name for himself because they couldn't suppress his talent. But has he been pushed like a franchise artist?

    No.

What happened to OB or P. Reign?

That was just a formality. It was 1017/Mizay/Warner Bros.

Gucci isnt even on the album.

    GOOD
    Bad Boy
    DeathRow
    No Limit

Who cares about the losses? Every label has failed acts

I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on all the rest. I have no rebuttals when it comes to Drake/OVO anymore, the verdict is what it is regardless.
