one of the best studios ever

EA, Ubisoft, Microsoft a BLIGHT on art. i resent the higher ups at those companies deeply

  • The fact that the game was still in early development this entire time says a lot. So unfortunate man.

also veilguard was ratfucked by ea.

garbage combat, terrible writing. it was over corpoed. then the studio who made some of the best games ever gets sacked because of it.

these corps come into creative spaces with these awful ludicrous ideas tailored to squeeze money out of their consumer and then when the game eventually fails they just shrug and say "See we were right the game was a dud" without making the connection that their ideas are what torched the game

  • One of the greatest. Gaming is slowly dying and it's so sad

    BG1&2 - KOTOR - ME - DA:O

Crazy run, some of the greatest ever.

Ew. I’d take the worst Mass Effect over bland ass Horizon.

So we're taking metacritic pro reviewers as the end all be all everywhere i see the sentiment is split and that doesnt mark for a good game

I mean, I don’t, but the people at these companies making financial decisions actually do. Remember fallout new Vegas team didn’t get their bonuses because the meta was too low. In retrospect, critics were tripping then, fnv was a 10

As far as the fans, some people thinking a game is good and other not doesn’t mean the game is not good, that’s a weird circle of logic you’ve built

Veilguard was a good game the outrage over the game was about wokeness ffs

It scored 82 on meta, better than half of the switch 2 exclusives at this point. I guess Nintendo should close down half the studios they work with

    huge cope

that game ruined every part that made dragon age unique and turned it into button mashing slop.

how the series that was meant to continue baldur’s gate, removed every aspect of it that made it remotely similar to baldur’s gate, to replace it with ea button mashing slop, getting positive feedback is nuts.

and the writing as atrocious, regardless of “wokeness”

idgaf what it scored on meta critic lol meta critic is garbage. most mainstream reviewers all in cahoots with the big studios anyways lol

    also it killed bioware lol

that’s ridiculous because they put out anthem and it was panned, it got 50s on meta

30 points lower than veilguard? how come they didn't rig all the main stream reviewers then? You’re full of s***

If anything you are coping, critics are just gamers like you and I, except they actually play games unlike most of the snot-driveling nerds on the internet talking s*** about games they haven’t even played

I mean ultimately I agree, but these companies care about meta scores, Obsidian didn’t get bonuses because their scores were too low. Trust me BioWare scores matter to the people pulling plugs on this s***, and 82 is respectable. If it were truly dogshit it would’ve been panned easilyyyyy

idc if companies care or not bruh

i care if the game is good and bioware got ratfucked by ea into making garbage games, which led to their demise by ea itself.

There’s hundreds of games that are 8/10 games that people won’t be talking about in the years to come, that’s just life

Not everything is gonna be part of the zeitgeist, not enough room on the elevator

huge corpos buying out companies made of world leading artists, only to f*** over their famillies by ruining the company and making garbage ppl still defend.

it is what it is, which is awful

it’s time for a revolution, overdue even. I hope the 30s and 40s bring substantial change

well there will be with the rise of indie games and game development becoming easier with ai. (not gen ai, i mean for rigging, coding etc)
and outside of that just the increased demand for indie games

and then smaller studios will compete with bigger ones more and hopefully capitulate them.

then as they begin to sell out one by one, there will just be so many that enough will hold strong that we will get consistent stuff.

its in the middle of happening but we are still in the growing pains of it.
