Had dreads since mid 2016. Cut them shorter beginning of this year when they were about shoulder length and they're already close to that length again now Wanna dye my dreads completely blond but I don't know if I should cut them shorter again first Tryna go for that teen Gohan SS1 aesthetic
I crochet mine, quite painful and it takes hours but worth it imo

Anything I should know about bleaching? Heard it can dry your hair but I'm planning on cutting my dreads off by mid next year anyway

If you don't know what you're doing go to a professional, it's not hard but you don't wanna f*** your hair up
If you do it the right way honestly your hair shouldn't feel that much different. I still moisturize mine like I did before and honestly I can't tell the difference

Yeah, I'm going to the salon to get it dyed. The thing is, I don't moisturize I don't know how to do it, I've been told that most conditioners are unsuitable for dreads because of sulfates and I can't rinse coconut oil out of my hair properly which I feel like contributes to dread mold. Other than washing and the occasional apple cider vinegar rinse, spraying a mixture of bay rum, bergamot and placenta is the only moisture my hair has been getting over the last few years

Used to just had them for 3 months, then my mom cutted them off
Was supposed to ask my interviewers if the company had any hair policies, but she said the job was remote until the pandemic is over so I didn't ask...

Amassing an army of hair products to make up for the abuse i do to my head
So I've never really learned how to take care of my hair. I just grew up using Pink products, which I've learned are terrible for your hair.
Does anyone have any suggestions on a good daily routine for someone to have with 4c hair to get really curly hair? Should I be conditioning and moisturizing everyday? Should I be wearing a durag whenever I can?
I read some of the stuff from @op and on page 6, but I'm a true novice when it comes to taking care of my hair and I want to change that lol

I normally do a full wash once a week and a conditioner wash every other day( not necessary for most people I'd say but my hair be dry af without it). I use the AS I AM conditioner and leave in conditioner and the coconut oil shampoo from shea moisture.
Depending on your hair length you might wanna cop a bonnet or a silk scarf cuz a durag gonna flatten your hair. I keep a spray bottle with olive oil and rose water and just spray with that in the mornings to keep things moisturized.
Once you get some good length do some twist outs for more curl definition.

Thanks man! Appreciate the advice. Do you suggest shampooing once a week for 4c hair?
Is it bad to condition everyday?
I'll cop a bonnet or the silk scarf soon

It's really about your hair porosity. Conditioning not really bad as long as it's one of those silicone free ones but not necessary if your hair still feels hydrated
As for shampooing you could probably stretch it but if you work out or anything I'd do the once a week.
You can still just do a water rinse whenever you in the shower if you want to refresh the hair
Wtf is the inversion method? My man said sleep upside down and let the blood rush to your head to let your hair grow faster
This actually works or something?

i'm pretty sure there's some logic to this but it just sounds crazy.
would make more sense to simulate your head with scalp oil massages to get the blood flowing

This inversion joint on par with buddy telling me years ago to put crushed up birth control pills in my hair for the same effect, cause his mans did it successfully (allegedly)
