i f*** with how it looks now but i’m thinking about shaving the sides
anyone got an idea what my hair might look like 6 months into the free form?
i kinda want more strands, but acceptin my free form is gonna be more of an afro for the first year
it suits u just like that. i cut the sides of my dreads cuz i got a round face. it's intentional

if my dreads were long i wouldve just pulled it to the front or tied it back/up top.
but with baby dreads my only solution is to cut the sides with scissors

After 5 months, I had some small knots. I wasn't even at your stage yet and just decided to go for crotchet dreads
Couldn't bear the thought of walking around looking like a bum for an entire year or more while waiting for the dreads to form

Just twisted what I had already. Cut my hair in August 2015, got a fade in December 2015, then got my dreads around August 2016. I'd say my hair was around your length when I had them done
I hate the frizzy hairs you can see in the pic I posted earlier ITT and I don't know what people with freeform dreads do to get rid of them/if they even can. Going to get them twisted every few months is painful and expensive but its worth it imo

I'm on PC rn, let me upload a pic from my phone real quick so I can show you the length I had when I got them done and the dreads the day of
I'm deleting asap tho, can't have mfs on here knowing what I look likeI don't remember, but I think the guy wasn't certain whether I had enough length to do it. He was from Tanzania and had a really thin hook with him that he said wasn't available anywhere else. Not sure if that made a difference
