I rewatched the first episode for the first time since I was a kid last year and I still got goosebumps, it’s highkey the perfect pilot episode
I watched a bunch of eps last night and it’s pretty good. Idk if imma get through all 300+ but I’ll start rewatching it slowly
Forgot how good of a protag ichigo is. Especially back in that era of the big 3. Luffy and Ichigo were so far ahead of Naruto as characters it’s crazy
Man I really can't remember much of bleach I might have to just read the manga or watch a recap on youtube
Growing up watching this s*** dubbed to Japanese Ichigo VA gonna take some getting used to

I tried to get into anime but it wasn't for me, currently re-reading the manga and one volume per day goes pretty fastly tbh
yeah I wish they made a kai version without filler, better animation and pacing but I doubt it will happen
Doing a Kai version would help pump new life into the fandom for suuuure

all big three deserve one closer to the mangaka vision, I remember Naruto being plagued by fillers and random flashbacks in the middle of the episodes while One Piece needs one too because last episodes pacing are f***ed up really hard
Naw they bodied this episode and we get chainsaw man tomorrow. Being an anime fan has never been better

this is a pretty good recap video
Man why do ppl s*** on bleach it’s about as good as shonen can get, I put it right up there with Naruto
Was worried they’d split the sudden action between the first two episodes but they really paced and captured it all perfectly in one.
Gotta re-read TYBW alongside this.

People have issues with a lot of the arcs following soul society and some of the complaints make sense . Some structures and narrative decisions were not everyone’s cup of tea
is there a single good reason other than plot that almost none of the relevant captains/vizoreds used bankai against Aizen
I didn't think about that until right now lmao

Mostly plot, though you could argue that captains were a combination of either being exhausted from prior combat, being aware of Aizen’s battle prowess and therefore choosing to hide their trump cards until only a sure way of victory was certain (like how they were protecting Ichigo from being near him initially), and/or safeguarding due to natural disasters caused by bankais that may injure those present (although it’s made clear they would willingly die during combat without hesitation so yeah).
Could even take it a step further and say Aizen’s ability tampered with them ever feeling the need to go all out but that’s just shooting in the dark.

That's reasonable. Im rewatching the fight rn and forgot how banged up they all were.
on the individual level, most of their bankais would prob get each other f***ed up. Shinji and Kyoraku, probably the most desired bankais to see at that point, weren't an option at all

I get it like the filler arcs are kinda ass and the ending may have left something to be desired for some but it always felt like the hate was overstated.
