Well I’m not co-signing OP, but I also don’t know why you’re fronting like Dylan wouldn’t be good campfire music... Dylan has music and words for all occasions
But tbh, a campfire is actually one of the better occasions to listen to his music. Dylan or no Dylan, a campfire is one of the best setups to enjoy all sorts of music so the comment is only really an insult if someone thinks that the outdoors are.. corny. Either way OP lost

the hicks exiting a barn is a more integral part to the scene than the fire itself
dylan is the highest order of music royalty. i expected something mind altering like when i got put on to pink floyd as a teenager
@bloom Make sure the first Dylan album you listen to is Blood on the Tracks.

That and blonde on blonde is exactly what I’m referring to.
I might not have given him a fair chance tho tbh. I just went back and it’s some great music there. I expected something more...crazy? I guess

Don't expect anything amazing, at least in musical terms. Focus less on the music and more on the lyrics. The imagery he paints with his words is astounding. This is an early example of his poetic prowess
Take me on a trip upon your magic swirlin' ship
My senses have been stripped, my hands can't feel to grip
My toes too numb to step, wait only for my boot heels
To be wandering
I'm ready to go anywhere, I'm ready for to fade
Into my own parade, cast your dancin' spell my way
I promise to go under it
Though you might hear laughing, spinning, swinging madly across the sun
It's not aimed at anyone, it's just escaping on the run
And but for the sky there are no fences facing
And if you hear vague traces of skipping reels of rhyme
To your tambourine in time, it's just a ragged clown behind
I wouldn't pay it any mind
It's just a shadow you're seeing that he's chasing
And take me disappearing through the smoke rings of my mind
Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves
The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach
Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow
Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands
With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves
Let me forget about today until tomorrow
you don't listen to dylan for the music tbh, it's really for the lyrics, especially the stuff he wrote in the rock trilogy of the 60's

Lmao I'll never understand this approach
the music ain't bad, far from it
but for 2020 standards, it isn't "mind altering" like op is saying, it kinda has a country twang to it that a lot of ppl raised on modern pop & hip hop may be turned off by, but the the lyrics have that quality that op is searching for
