There's been countless studies that violent people are attracted to violent things. Violent games, movies or music don't cause violence on their own, it has to come from within so these kids you see shooting and s*** would have found any excuse to do that but just happened to like hip-hop. Hip-hop is the most streamed genre in the world but what you see is only a small fraction of a small community compared to the entire population but the media makes it look worse than it is because they have to be dramatic for views and clicks.

At the end of the day music is an outlet and the content spoken is a symptom of a larger issue. Theres a lot of cogs in this machine and to hyper focus on one doesnt change anything, censorship or not. Youre telling people that the lives they live are too rough and need to be watered down to… what? So kids can look up the lyrics themselves? This ain the 90s no more man.

There’s far greater problems to tackle than rap music. Does it play a part in certain things? Yes but a lot of these issues would exist and has existed pre rap.
