Acting like unless your name is 50 Cent, signing to Shady is smart
Obie used to be dope.
Shady is the worst label ever lmao they’ve failed every single one of the artist they’ve signed.
How? Just having 50 leaves them pretty far from being the worst one.
Obie was doing great until the contract ended.
Yeah instead of random Kendrick features on his albums he gets random Eminem features hooray b

That’s 2 people out of like 12 dude lol & 50 wasn’t all Shady. Obie I could give you.

tde barely has any success stories lol.

Kendrick, Q, SZA are success. Ab Soul is one of the most appreciated artist in the game. So is Zay but yeah lol obviously people expect more from the label but the artist are all cemented 🤷♂️

Shady has had like 9 acts 3 of which were moderately successful. TDE has 10 3 of which are moderately successful. 1 is an r&b artist. Damn near all the tde talent signed was propped up like they were the next big thing. Shady artists werent
Obie used to be dope.
He was. But he's an exception for that label. What about Stat Quo, Yelawolf, Cashis, Bobby Creekwater, Slaughterhouse and the others.

Em discovered 50 though. Dre helped a lot, but Em is the one who signed him and supervised the project.
Em was also on d**** for a long time, that explains signing artists like Bobby Creek. Cashis had potential imo, I loved the EP, and he was also mad loyal. They just didn't give him a chance.
Stat could have gone platinum easily back then. He had some nice songs, but it seems he f***ed up behind the scenes with Em.
damn homies itt really acting like 50 Cent, Obie Trice, BME and D12 didnt sell multiplatinum albums

Dude in the end none of them did anything on the label & that’s what my point is lol 50 & Obie that’s it. SH is a fail, Yelawolf is a fail & bout to get his ass beat. Shady is a failed label

Like I just said. Stat had some fun songs. He f***ed up with a comment he made to a d***ged out Em that made Em mad.
Slaughterhouse album was a mess imo. I liked some tracks, but I prefer the pre Shady stuff they were doing.
Yelawolf always seemed underground to me, like he didn't want to be mainstream. Still, he dropped Love Story, which is one of the best albums released on Shady imo.

Rocafella had a lot of failed artists
GOOD same thing
Dreamville
Quality Control
MMG
Cash Money
OVO
Grand Hustle
all more flops than successes in the long run
you acting like there are actually giant rapper owned labels at this point, Roc Nation is probably the closest and even they have failed artists. s*** happens all the time b.

Yela dropped Love Story.
Cashis dropped a good EP imo. But he needed support to start his career. No one gave it to him.
everyone in this thread saying eminem discovered 50 need to shut the f*** up and never claim they know anything about new york hip hop ever again my g.

hes on record saying he knows he'll never blow up but he wants to stay on shady and create music there, so honestly Cashis is a real one and already knew he probably wouldnt make it mainstream

He didn't discover 50. But he gave him a platform no one else would have given him.
Huge promo + big fanbase + big features + Dre beats.
ppl act like tde releases are solely the labels fault. they allow the artist to have 100% creative control, you really think they would wanna delay zay releasing something??
zay himself has come out saying he’ll drop when he’s ready and he has a history of subtance abuse, and if anyone properly listened to his music they would know this, aswell as the mental issues he has
at the end of the day, if the artist aint ready to drop, then they wont drop and tde respect that. they themselves are probably as desperate as us for zay to release lol
sza around the year ctrl was being done was going through alot aswell, her grandma died (who she was mad close to), and this definitely would‘ve caused strain on her as an artist and her album
one thing i’ll criticise them for is their marketing sometimes. they do troll alot of fans online, with misleading tweets or pictures. they know that their fans will read alot into nothing lol

He was dope though. Specially on Em beats. And imagine the features that album could have had (Shady, Aftermath & G-Unit)

He had Hov drop a sub against him during Summerjam in 1999 back when Summerjam actually meant something my g.
50 Cent Is The Future is an undisuptable top 5 NY mixtape
Everyone and they moms was trying to sign 50. Talking about no one else would have given him a platform?
The Em d***riding on this forum is hilarious tbh.

maybe im missing something with the trolling
I think they do a proper job of promoting though, given what the size of the label actually is. We can't expect a label like TDE to get TV promo and huge marketing/advertisement slots outside of California for artists like a Boogie, Jay Rock, Reason, Ab-Soul.
They blow on their own then outsource to labels like Interscope and Aftermath, RCA etc for that.

not even talking about me personally but yeah its less so them, moreso the fans reading too much into whatever they tweet. i think top tweeted out a soul verse from the vice city song and everyone was like ‘black hippy collab???’ Lol
