I've never been an Em fan in my defense so I never really gave a s*** tbh.

I'm just saying personally 50 would've been just as big on any other label.

i guess the main thing is that noone in the industry at the time wanted to give him that chance, apart from em. he might’ve been as big, but a labels faith back then in you is integral

He wasnt for his first album, but they let him do what he wanted for the rest of the time after that and when he left he said there was no ill will

that's the exact problems that both Joe and Slaughterhouse as a group had.

You don't go from Hammer Dance and Microphone to cringe ass s*** like My Life and not be angry about that my g.

actually now that I think about it, the only artists I can think of who wasn't that happy on Shady is Joe Budden

And Stat. But Em was d***ged back then. So I don't know if that really counts.

He still gave 50 everything he needed. I don't think other labels would have made 50 a global star off one album.

As soon as he survived those shots and was still dissing STREET legends and no one touched him, he was always gonna be a global star.

It may not have happened as fast as it did with the debut, but niggas like 50 just have it.

But I'll give you that much my g

Or he could just have been killed.

That Interscope money had everyone driving bulletproof cars and also gave them more than enough money for security.

How many rappers have been killed cause they didn't have bulletproof cars? Or almost killed?

Except that's all Joe said explaining why he solely left the group on the podcast was because everyone in the group didn't know what they wanted. (he didn't mention that song specifically but the corny eminem production as a whole was a big part of their disagreements )

I also don't get that Eminem intro in the music video. Who thought that was a good idea? He wasn't even featured on that song.

But I didn't have a problem with the female hooks since Goodbye is one of the few songs I did like.

The only artists Eminem has truly found I think are Obie, D12, Bobbie Creekwater, Cashis.

The rest were already doing their own thing and Em brought them to Dre/Jimmy's attention and got them put on and signed them to Shady.

    At the end of the day, these are the acts Em has had a hand in for better or worse;

    Bad Meets Evil
    Boogie
    Griselda
    D12
    Obie Trice
    50 Cent
    Stat Quo
    Bobby Creekwater
    Cashis
    Slaughterhouse
    Yelawolf

I would consider 7 of them generally successful
If you look at Boogie's streaming numbers after signing with Shady, he has doubled every year since.

Stat Quo works with Game now and has done a lot more behind the scenes than people have realized. He produces and has his hand in other things as well.

If we consider Skyler Grey and Jessie Reyez put on by Eminem, both of them had their own thing going on too, but Skyler has a lot of credits for ghostwriting some very popular songs and artists.

Jessie Reyez had her own thing going on too, and Em just featured her because he loved her style.

8-5 is a pretty good record imo. Boogie & Griselda already had their own things going on but since signing to Shady they may not be selling records but their fanbase has grown and they def blew up a lot more than they ever would have on their own.

In his defense, everybody was wearing bulletproofs back then even f***ing Em was wearing one my g. I remember Hov talking about how surprised he was seeing him in the studio when they was working on Moment Of Clarity.

It also helps to have "protection" from high up places to the point niggas still think 50's the feds (shoutout to lying ass Irv)

the thing about Stat is he was actually signed to Aftermath first, Dre placed him with Shady for a joint deal. He was upset more at Dre, not Em. Or maybe both, but regardless, he has went on and is actually doing pretty well anyway even though it isnt from Rapping

  • May 7, 2020

Skylar was a nobody as an artist until they put her on the hook of I Need A Doctor.

I had no clue who Jessie was until Em worked with her. At all.

The Monster gave Bebe a chance to blow up. And she did.

“There was a song called ‘Dance On It.’ Em wrote the chorus and Em wanted me to say the chorus," Stat Quo said. "I thought it was not good. If I would have said, ‘Yeah, that’s it! That’s the one we going with!’ I would’ve got my album out. But I tried to be on some ‘Nah, I don’t like that; that ain’t a hit.’ I was really arguing with ... the top-selling rapper of all time on what a f***in’ hit was. What a dummy idiot I was!”

"My exact quote was, 'I'll put it out if you stay on the hook.' And then I said, 'If you give me a million dollars, then I'll put it out.' When I said that me and Em went like this," Stat said miming two roads diverging with his hands. "It was a wrap."

I'm saying that giving them money for protection including bulletproof cars was smart by Interscope.

How many rappers get shot/killed while driving?

  • May 7, 2020

Completely forgot Griselda was on Shady

Wasn’t WSG saying the new Eminem album was garbage or something?

    • Obie Trice and the ones that got shot at like Ross, Migos,... They could have ended the same way.

Let me remind ya'll that they tried to kill Buck after G-Unit hitting his gf. Cause he didn't have the money to move around in bulletproof cars anymore.

50 had the same amt of buzz Griselda, Boogie, Slaughterhouse, Yelawolf, or any other artists he's signed had at the time.

I knew about and listened to all of these artists before they were signed to Shady, the Shady backing just brings in hopefullness that theyll be able to work with Dre, and that Eminem's fanbase will take a liking to them

    Delusion is high

TDE is a GOOD tier label - holding artists back and not allowing them to drop
