He had Hov drop a sub against him during Summerjam in 1999 back when Summerjam actually meant something my g.

50 Cent Is The Future is an undisuptable top 5 NY mixtape

Everyone and they moms was trying to sign 50. Talking about no one else would have given him a platform?

The Em d***riding on this forum is hilarious tbh.

You think he would have been this big on Rocafella? Def Jam?... Most rappers from back then fell off real quick cause of label issues.

50 didn't fall until he got lazy with music and started doing other stuff.

He was dope though. Specially on Em beats. And imagine the features that album could have had (Shady, Aftermath & G-Unit)

nah i like cashis well enough. To be fair, the only artists Shady signed that I feel like truly flopped in a bad way was Slaughterhouse. Em really mismanaged them and I think a lot of it came down to Joe Budden moreso than anything else. Everyone else in that group has a good relationship with Em still and doesnt harbor any ill will over what happened.

not even talking about me personally but yeah its less so them, moreso the fans reading too much into whatever they tweet. i think top tweeted out a soul verse from the vice city song and everyone was like ‘black hippy collab???’ Lol

ah yeah t hats true and fair enough i guess but i tweet and post lyrics and s*** all the time, they're just label heads and artists so anytime they move is gonna be questioned when nobody dropped in a while

The worst part is that Em and Paul gave them a chance to make the album they wanted to make. Even if it flopped harder. But Joe said f*** that.

    yes!

He would've definitely blew up on any label. 50 unlike a lot of those rappers back then already had charisma. Probably the last rapper to have the most sheer charisma/confidence.

You know how many other upcoming rappers back then had diss records that dissed mad niggas that no one responded to?

Why everyone get in a frenzy when unknown 50 shot everybody up on How to Rob? Cause everyone knew who 50 was even back then my g.

50's buzz was on and off lets be real. And nobody wanted to take the chance with him because he had been shot and was mouthy, all of this s*** is well documented.

50 didnt get discovered by em, but em & dre gave him his shot

He would. But nowhere near imo.

    Interscope Shady Aftermath

Doesn't he have the biggest rap debut album ever?

Interscope =/= Eminem though my g.

I just hate when niggas bring up 50 just to prove a point about Eminem being a good "talent discovery" person that's all.

if 50 signed with anyone else it wouldnt have been anywhere near as impactful tbh. The Shady label catapulted his success because the beef with Murder Inc and Ja Rule wouldnt have been handled the same way anywhere else.

you can tell the hate is largely due to the more anticipated names not dropping like zay, kendrick and sza. i remember when everyone thought they dropped the ball with sza, but they got her co-signed with a major and ctrl was a huge success

i guess people might be worried that the wait wont be worth it incase they drop mid. crash talk and redemption weren’t as well received as other tde releases. i think crash talk is way too overhated in general, but i guess people were expecting Q to drop his best album cos it was a 3 year wait

50 had the same amt of buzz Griselda, Boogie, Slaughterhouse, Yelawolf, or any other artists he's signed had at the time.

I knew about and listened to all of these artists before they were signed to Shady, the Shady backing just brings in hopefullness that theyll be able to work with Dre, and that Eminem's fanbase will take a liking to them

I think Crash Talk was exactly what Q wanted to make regardless of if we like it or not, and to be honest, he's allowed to take a mental health album if you will.

Redemption is the one I think is overhated, that was one of my favorites that year. Rock did his thing and remained Rock, even though the production and song making was a lil more mainstream

50 was already going at Ja before getting signed tho. Your life's on the line is a huge murder inc diss my g

and also, we know a lot of rappers talk s*** and get shot and still get signed to labels all the time b.

I give more credit of 50 and shady's relationship to Dre tbh.

Em heard the mixtape and said let's sign this dude.

Interscope was involved cause of Em. Dre was involved cause of Em.

Can he find talent? I don't know. He's sober now and I don't give a s*** about Boogie, Griselda or Jessie Reyez, so I don't know.

Yela was already signed to Interscope. I remember him being asked if he would like to work with Em and he kept praising him. His producer worked with Em and played him some tracks. Em signed him.

So Interscope, not Em, found Yela. And I think he was already 'internet famous'.

Em brought 50 to Dre, he had to convince him and Interscope to sign him and put his own career on the line for it lol. you're acting like youre all knowing here but at the same time it feels like youve never listened to interviews or documentaries about any of this

yeah i got no problems with both of them. both solid, but i would say none of them are better than their previous release (blank face and 90059) and thats the worry fans have. its touching 4 years since zay dropped tst, he’s rumoured to drop next month, if it isn’t as good as tst or cilvia then ppl will quickly brush it aside and write him off. sadly, thats just the expectation that increases with anticipation

He still gave 50 everything he needed. I don't think other labels would have made 50 a global star off one album.
