I’m confused. All these books are the same series or take place in the same universe?
Cosmere books take place in one universe. You don't have to read all the books to understand it tho it's not like the mcu. They just have references with each other. Some characters do crossover to other books
Idk bout the his other books to the right tho

Can you give me a general synopsis of the Cosmere series?

They all got different story. I think Google would do a better job explaining all that

Also does anyone else find the relationship with wit and jasnah weird
I bought the first Mistborn book. I been reading hardcore sci-if for most of the year, so this should be a nice lil break from it.

im doing a reread through the entire series to prepare and buy time

WHAT THE F\*\*\* I DIDNT REALIZE KELSIER IS THE LEADER OF THE GHOSTBLOODS

I wished Rlain got the sibling bond instead of privileged navani. She's already the smartest scholar on the book and a queen. Having Rlain as a bondsmith would've had the singers a powerful weapon so they won't be hoed again by the humans
ROW 106
Yooo the way kaladin killed the pursuer was so filthy
talking that s*** son
I'm about a quarter of the way through Mistborn: The Final Empire, I'm liking it so far. the magic system is pretty good so far, Kelsier, and Vin are really well written. I'm really enjoying their development.

kelsier is a fun character. i enjoy the entire crew. really liked elend
So how is Mistborn connected to Stormblight Archive books? And the rest of the Cosmere books? What’s the connecting tissue? I’m almost done with the first Mistborn book, so if it’s a spoiler just tell me to keep reading.

it's not like marvel where they are trying to interconnect everything
but it is happening in the same universe/galaxy as other planets in other books in the cosmere
there are certain characters who are in other books that can travel to other planets but nothing huge

After getting caught up the the stormlight books I think stormlight and mistborn gonna be more connected
Vin just giving up all the details of the Skaa to Elend
Vin started pissing me off ngl
Finished Mistborn: The Final Empire, already started The Well of Ascension. The book was slow to start for me, I had been binging sci-fi novels so the switch to fantasy kinda took a while for my mind to settle on the genre change. But once the magic system was fully explained, and the characters started getting fleshed out more I was fully in. Although I had trouble visualizing how they dress in this world. Like I was imagining some Star Wars type of clothing but it’s more western styled according to some official art
But overall pretty good “band of thieves” story. The Dark Lord was built up very well. I’m already getting started on book 2

Damn i think we finished it on the same day
I'm starting book two later tonight.
As for dress I'm imagining Jojo season 1+Dune lmao
I just got to part 3 of The Final Empire. I think the issue i've had with the book that I've finally landed on is that Sanderson's prose and writing style just don't do much for me. To me his writing style has no subtext and has been holding my hand the entire book. I just finished The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch before starting this book, and I thought Lynch did such a great job of crafting scenes with compelling atmosphere and letting me think for myself while I was reading. I don't need the most flowery language in a novel, but with Sanderson I feel like so many of his sentences are just so clunky and leave nothing up to mystery for me to think for myself about. I've read that's an intentional stylistic choice on his part, but it's hard for me to vibe with.
I'm still going to finish the book because despite his style I am enjoying most of the characters and the story's setting, but I'm struggling a bit to get through so i'm hoping the plot picks up soon
I’m still just a quarter of the way through The Well of Ascension, idk about the rest of the Cosmere novels, but the Mistborn series would be better adapted as an animated series rather than live action. Needs like a Castlevania or DOTA animation style. Live action not gonna do this justice. If they go live action I don’t see them securing the necessary budget given the length of these novels. It’ll look like a CW tier show for sure.
