Just finished Rhythm of War. This was pretty good. Imma sleep on it. I pretty much read the entire Stormlight Archive back to back to back to back. It’s a lot to digest. Feels like I haven’t been outside since August.

Yea a lot of time was spent getting through various characters inner monologues. I ain’t gone lie Kaladan’s bouts with depression were a drag to read through coming off that high from Oathbringer. I did not look forward to Kaladin’s POV for a majority of the book tbh. But I’ll say a lil more than half way through the book Shallan’s and Kaladan’s issues were starting to make more sense to me. I grew more empathetic as the story continued. Going through some s*** myself so I get those dark places.
Too tired to really write my thoughts out atm but I can quickly rank the books.
4. Rhythm of War
3. Words of Radiance
2. The Way of Kings
1. Oathbringer
ROW & WOR are interchangeable. ROW has higher highs, but also lower lows. WOR is a bit more consistent in quality. I thoroughly enjoyed each book. I’m even contemplating immediately rereading them or might go on and grab a copy of The Sunlit Man it’s looking like a .5 sequel to ROW. Or do I start Mistborn Era 2?

that duel scene plus the final battle in WOR is just absolute cinema
Ugh spoiled myself looking up a review for The Sunlit Man, and then I was reading about Worldhoppers on Coppermind and read a spoiler stating who the founded Ghost Bloods.
I ended up starting Mistborn Era 2, The Alloy of Law btw

Tbh. This needs an Arcane or Castlevania style show.
I think Dota: Dragon’s Blood (very slept on show btw) would be the style they should go with imo. I really hope they don’t go the live action route tbh. I just don’t think they’d ever secure a budget needed to make it look amazing all the way through. Especially for long ass Stormlight Archives books. Maybe they could get away with it for Mistborn or one of the stand alone Cosmere stories.
ROW spoilers
!# Ishar’s lil bout with Dalinar n the Wind Runner Squad
Kaladan’s execution of the pursuer was brutal but magnificent . I ain’t think Kal could get that cut throat #
Stormlight book 5 at 94%
I need to read sunlit man cuz apparently it's closely tied to Stormlight archive
Finished The Alloy of Law and Shadows of Self.
Really liked book 2. Made me laugh quite a few times. Harmony, Wax, Wayne, and Marasi’s development is great. The story n plot itself was actually well executed m, even if you can predict it. The emotional weight of it still carries imo.
Was gonna take a break but that ending making me wanna dive straight into The Bands of Mourning
Idk if this really counts as spoilers since it's chapter 1 but the protagonist is/was a radiant
Starting mistborn today I think
Man idk I know people say Stormlight Archives is Brandon’s magnum opus but Mistborn Era 1 & 2 emotional moments hit me harder than anything I read in Stormlight. I’m close to finishing up The Bands of Mourning right now and some s*** just went down that got me choked up

Okay may jump in to era 2 now.
1 year :
I’m fine with this. I still got The Lost Metal, Tress of the Emerald Sea, Yumi and the Nightmare Painter, and The Sunlit Man to read.
Won’t take me any where close to an entire year of course to read em all but, s*** should still be fresh in my head.

Good luck with tress emerald sea. That book was a drag to get thru
While I do think Mistborn Era 2 is genuinely great. Each book an improvement over the last, The Lost Metal alone is reason enough to read Mistborn Era 2. this s*** is like The Avengers
Yo who is the Nomad he mentions Kaladin on chapter 9
I unfortunately had the identity of the Nomad spoiled for me while I looked up a review of the book. Ain’t give no spoiler warning or anything
Didn’t even realize it was a spoiler until I watched a different review.
I finished The Lost Metal the other day. Great book. I’ve more or less caught up on the Cosmere now. Only the 3 “surprise” books left. I’m gonna take a break, and probably start them after the new year. I need to digest my thoughts on this epic journey.
14 Books + Ars Arcanum Short Stories, I honestly did not think I’d be this enraptured by this universe after starting with The Final Empire. There was some rough bits, like Elantris, and Warbreaker, as I mostly was just reading them to get every bit of lore. But man looking back I’m really glad I did read through them, being able to catch some definitely not all the references is such a cool pay off through out the various books. I bet on reread I will enjoy those stories a lot more. This man Brandon Sanderson is really amazing I can’t even cap. He’s more or less been doing this independent as well, especially now since he’s built up his own publishing house. I watched a few interviews he’s gave, and he be talking his s*** but he can back it up cause he got the numbers to show it.
From what I hear though he’s against adapting these books into animation. He doesn’t feel like it will have the reach he desires. He wants to do it live action. I gotta respect his vision but, man if I won the lotto, this is exactly the sort of thing I would make an animation studio to fund and animate.
I only read Mistborn from Sanderson and thought it was quite poorly written and on some generic YA s***.
It really turned me off on his work despite the glowing praise across the board.
