If I recall correctly there's a secret pathway in the tomb where you first wake up where you can now use your new abilities to manipulate the cogwheels to reach a new path.

read somewhere that ascend was a cheat they were using while making the caves n s*** bc they found it tiresome to find the way back then were like might aswell

Lol I think we were just in the same area but I wasn't as unlucky as you. I hopped into a chasm somewhere in the Akkala region about an hour ago and ended up landing on a Frox that I beat up and as soon as I was done beating the Frox I saw the dragon (Dinraal) come down into the chasm and I hit him with an arrow and got one of his scales.

Bro I have spent 15 hours so far and I haven't even progressed the story passed the paraglider. I spent 3 hours in the mountains looking for stables and kept getting distracted every 5 seconds smh.

THEN the fairy came out from the ground and asked If I could wake her sisters so now I gotta do that to... + the shrines that are everywhere. Smh
