Every little hill, particularly tall tree, there's gonna be a korok seed 3/4th of the times
For sure, the game is going to sell either way because of BotW's legacy and the lasting impression it left on its players. Still I feel like the trailers so far are not doing the game justice. They haven't done a good job of showing us what makes this game so special besides the sky, generally speaking.
When BotW was being promoted, everything about it was new (the world, the enemies, the characters, the combat, the Sheikah mechanics) so whenever we were shown ANYTHING at all from BotW, it was always new, it was always fresh and it was always intriguing. In Tears of the Kingdom however, in most of the trailers we are seeing the same things we saw in BotW, but now with some sprinkles on it. For this reason I feel like TotK has a bigger burden to prove itself and its distinction from BotW and why it deserves to be its own title rather than just another DLC.
Thats fair, but if marketing keeps being mysterious and non-existent till release, we'll all be glad Nintendo didnt spoil x and y when the game drops, and we'll all forget about this. Two ex nintendo employees working in NOA marketing department have a podcast and they said that Zelda team was very picky about botw spoilers. There had been many arguments over the trailers we eventually got, and at the time they needed those because botw was a whole new approach to Zelda and it had to sell the switch too. Now that they've got the freedom to decide what to show, they're just doing what they wouldve done with botw if they had full control: keeping all the dope stuff to themselves.
Also, im sure they're so confident in their work they know the game will prove its worth by itself

Yeah, I just want them to show me something about this game that will actually get me really hyped. The next Zelda game is less than two months away and I don't feel the hype yet
Somehow stumbled upon that plain in Faron with all the zonai pillars for the first time this morning. I’ve seen the illustrations from all the youtube thumbnails but I realize I’ve never been there myself. Since im putting botw down soon till totk, this was an awesome experience leading in to the new game
And i was looking for something else completely
real. i think ive only found like 200
It's tedious work
only got 88 left to find and I feel like I'm about to go insane
my replays of botw always start very strong but by the end im always very much over it, not really that fun to replay at all tbh
divine beasts and shrines are innately boring by like the 15th hour, talking in circles about this point but if there arent dungeons god help this game

Going on my first replay and it's pretty strong only reason I'm getting tired of it is because I'm collecting the korok seeds, don't know if I'll ever replay it again tho
Shrines are very inconsistent tbh there are a few great ones, but a lot of them aren't very remarkable, maybe they should've prioritized quality over quantity

yea like the general idea of them arent bad but man its like yall couldve really done a better job at presenting these puzzles instead of 120 blue rooms, some of which are just repeats of one another

actually unreal how awful they are compared to traditional dungeons

Agree, especially when the good shrines are like very good its like they gave uop halfway through making them
But considering they started making TOTK because they had too many ideas for the dlc, I guess we can expect stuff of the same quality as the dlc shrines and dungeon so that's promising

everytime i replay botw i feel like hey maybe this time ill understand the divine beasts, nope every single time im thinking holy s*** they dropped the ball with this, like above all else this is the only real negative about the game for sure
The concept of the divine beasts is interesting tho but the execution isn't there its a shame
i beat vah rudania in like 10 minutes the first time i played it when i was like 14
i was thinking thered be so much more

And the blight Ganon bosses man
like come on

broo when i did my second divine beast and realized they were all the same i was like aint noo f***ing way man. yall did not just do that in place of actual unique bosses
thankfully in the totk trailers tho i saw some big ass hydra boss and the block monster so zelda might really be back fr

Divine beasts arent up to par only in visuals and the bosses, the rest is great. People treating older dungeons like they're all all timers Is funny to me, cause for many of them presentation does the heavy lifting. You cant tell me dodongos cavern, jabu jabus belly, Shadow Temple, most Wind waker dungeons, tp forest Temple, goron mines, Temple of time, skyward sword earth Temple are better than divine beasts. Shrines criticism is also a little overblown, they cant be compared to dungeons and they're generally a good reward for exploration, with the main criticism being again the lack of visual diversity. The dungeons i listed are still good for the most part, but so are the beasts. Like vah naboris and vah ruta are on the level of the best dungeons of the series, albeit not in my personal top 5. I will say that totk has to have at the very least actual different, fun, bosses and unique identities, and maybe a little longer, but im fine with the level design of the beasts
