    Great game, great year

I dont think people really have a hate boner, i fw the game but i was disappointed the story format was overall the same as botw and doing memories out of order by accident spoils a lot

Yeah i feel like most if not of all of the the story based complaints are about the presentation and not the actual narrative which imo is very valid

I managed to do them in order but still felt underwhelmed. (except for the later reveals)

I love the dragon tears idea but the memories should’ve been presented to us another way. I little bit more linearity would’ve gone a long way, but the gameplay and even the bigger picture of the story more than makes up for that, for me.

    Great game, great year

  • Underrated. The crisis “remixes” were so good. Cant get enough of Zelda atmosphere at its best

  • the biggest came and went game ever

  • Can’t wait to replay where the f*** is master mode?!!

Never reuse the same overworld again. Don’t care that they added a barren sky with all of the islands being a copy and paste and let’s not even get started on the underground. Just play BOTW. Simple is better. Next game I wonder what the goal would be. After OoT Majoras Mask was the perfect sequel. Wind Waker an adventure on the ocean. Twilight Princess a OoT baby even tho I enjoyed it is not something the series should do again. Skyward Sword too linear and overworld was a miss. Zelda can’t do sky overworlds. BOTW was needed and wonderful. Wish they do small majoras mask size Zelda games. Doesn’t always have to be “big and grand” adventures

I agree with everything you said, been saying it since day 1. TotK was an unnecessary addition, BOTW was everything that game needed it to be, sometimes simpler really is better.
TotK lacked the wonder of BOTW completely.

I also wish the next Zelda game is a more traditional/smaller scale one, but who knows.

In this gaming era, it just seems the bigger the better, which really isn't the reason why I've grown to love Zelda, but eh, who am I to judge when it sells like crazy...

Can’t believe it’s been a year since this dropped

I still haven’t played it.. I haven’t been in a huge rush because I’m a bigger fan of traditional Zelda gameplay and felt BotW sort of downgraded it to a generic open world fantasy game…

But I do want to give it a try. What’s the cheapest way to get this game lmao?

    Emulator

  • LOVED this but it definitely didnt get the same awe and immersion out of me as BOTW

I never really figured out the building too well though so maybe that’s on me

  • This game makes me so happy. A great year.

  • I have as much nostalgia for this game as i do for botw. They nailed hyrule and its inhabitants this time around, i hope the next iterations of hyrule are as alive

  • Can we talk about how totk is one of the very few games around that can convey spectacle through gameplay only. Colgera boss fight would've been mostly a cutscene with qte in most other games. Same for the final battle, and there are many other examples

  • think my biggest problem with this game is how unspecial it feels in comparison to botw

the massive open world isn't as interesting to explore when you've done it once already

the new mechanics are great and they really shine in areas like the shrines - I really think it would've benefited from being a smaller experience in general

  • it's crazy how much the game peaks within the first sky island tutorial tbh, it still feels fresh for a bit after you depart bcuz the new mechanics (also the wind temple is incredible) but beyond that everything in the open world felt like busywork, i think it was around the water temple where i had a realisation of feeling like i was travelling from point a-b for the purpose of discovering the game i wanted to play (the shrines)

where as botw had the distinctly opposite feeling, the open world was what i wanted to do, i wanted to explore, the shrines were fun lil bonuses

  • Game is still peak. Spent an hour last night just messing around in the depths building automated robots to kill enemies for me so I can farm zonite.

I can't wait to replay this game knowing what I know about ultrahand now
