I think the only thing i straight up dislike in this game is the sky islands
Theyre fine for what they are but man the missed potential there is insane
I always thought the story was lacking tbh
Not that its bad but the open structure just takes away all the urgency and mystery out of it
It was fine in botw but in totk it really shows how limiting thid type of storytelling is wjen it comes to telling a compelling story
It was still lacking compared to earlier entries but at least it felt like there was a story and it had interesting twists and turns like a Zelda story should. Botw story was barely there.
I was mainly just highlighting the differences between the two games, to emphasize how it didn’t feel like dlc, but you’re right and it’s fair to critique TOTK’s story.

I did like botws story because it made sense for it to have taken place before the events of the game, the world was the main character and did the heavy lifting with the environmental storytelling
Its honestly so confusing that they just rehashed the exact same formula for this one like they really couldn't think ofna better way to tell a story that exciting? It just feels like they gave up on some aspects of the game abd decided to just do what they did with botw again
I gotta get back on my grind
Last thing i remember is tryna get zeldas b**** ass cubic zirconium horse in the middle of the antarctic
Enjoying tjis 2nd playthrough so much more than the first one
Does it feel more fun knowing how the game is the second time around?
A lot of the reactions itt after it released were that we were worried it was gonna feel like dlc but ultimately we were pleasantly surprised by more challenging and varied quests/side adventures, caves and other unique waypoints, depths, better shrine design, no more boring combat trials, double the variety of enemies and enemy types, and unlike BOTW they actually focused on telling a classic Zelda story.
Change "pleasantly surprised" for "fucking overjoyed"

While this is true it wasn't really any better with BOTW and at least the cutscenes were much much better this time around. Ganondorf a fking menace.

Oh yeah the story in botw is interesting but overall pretty underwhelming
I like the character moments in it but it all feels very definitive and like it doesn't really s*** your perspective on anything
Coming towards the end of playthrough #2 and its still hitting like it came out last night
Back on my grind, i lost my save data so im about back to where i was.
In Hebra fighting ice draugrs and s***. Came with the Canada Goose this time cuz before i pulled up in some thrifted s*** and lost my fingers.
Omm f*** ganon
I even lost my horses from my botw play thru, i had a big beefy horse named Beef and he not here no more. And a skeleton horse
Almost a year later what do yall think
Personally its aight. i wish it was a bigger step forward from botw

The gameplay is amazing, a huge step up from BOTW imo
but Nintendo dropped the ball hard with the story. I know several ppl that dropped the game and never came back to it because they just weren’t interested enough by the story, especially with the expectations most of us had going in by the trailers

Agreed we need a straightforward timeless Zelda narrative next time. Recapture that feeling so many people have of pulling their first all nighter playing OOT cause the story was so captivating.

Lmao it’s literally the best Zelda story in over 20 years but alright, they probably just didn’t do the story. Sounds like a skill issue. All my friends finished the game and loved it.
