“Lytton, British Columbia, hit 121 degrees on Tuesday -- the highest temperature ever recorded in Canada. The record was broken on Sunday and then again on Monday.

The coroner's service normally receives about 130 death reports over a four-day period. From Friday through Monday, at least 233 deaths were reported, the chief coroner said, adding "this number will increase as data continues to be updated."”

“At least 76 people died in Oregon and Washington from excessive heat during a stifling heat wave that hit the Pacific Northwest in the past several days, according to local authorities.”

110 minimum in the west, 94 degrees in Philadelphia per one of my friends. We might be f***ed lol

K hear me out, what if we passed a law that mandates everyone put at least 10 ice cubes in the freezer yearly. 10 * 7 billion = 70000000000. That’s 70 billion ice cubes we could use against extreme heat. Think about it...

You’d have to open the fridge/freezer and that uses electricity which diverts power for the ACs

    What would power them lol

Unless you tried to do a solar power (no Lorde) thing. But I’m pretty sure it’d just overheat

what would be “interesting” would be seeing how we develop our way of living into one that is healthy for the earth

we’re just killing it rn and suffering the from the consequences without doing s*** about it
