That is correct, why would you be tripping? Youll notice we did our Blackstar listening party 2 days before he passed away what a week

Thought you'd like those Knight Of Cups and Le Haine recreations too

That night: "This new Bowie's a jam "

Next morning: "David Bowie has died"

At least we did shrooms and not MDMA like usual so my emotion weren't already unbalanced that day

    @Elric

Knight Of Cups, Bone Tomahawk, Chungking Express, VVitch, Prince Of Darkness (got a soft spot for that loosely connected Carpenter trillogy), La Haine

Cool to see Vargtimmen in there as well i remember you saying that it didn't do that much for you even though you're a fan of the director

My boy Leon look kinda goofy though but i really like this idea of the collage it's super dope imo

I can't draw for S*** but you really sparked something in me that makes me wanna do something similar. Might f*** around and write either a poem or a 1 page story based on what ive watched when i have the time to watch a film daily again soon

Wouldn't be nothing to flaunt visually like your drawings but that would be my way of channeling that atmosphere of the films i just watched to convert it into something i actually can pull off myself

Thanks for the inspiration !! @Eric

I didn't have "french f***" skin color felt so Leon came out looking like Mr.T.

Vincent Cassel in your La Haine drawing looks like it was pulled from a manga tbh but it totally works

Tbh revisiting these made me want to do something too but I definitely don't have time to do this anymore. also tbf that was when I was still cracking off iconic classic after classic for the first time so it was a pretty exciting time to be keeping track of things. Need to find a different outlet.

I was never really much for doodling let alone making art and the first year was very sloppy and embarrassing but I honed my craft and got decent They only look presentable cause they're so tiny tbh lol

Well for me personally i've been trying to get into writing again (some things that happened recently actively steered me into the direction of getting my hands dirty again on the creative side of things) and it's always nice to get inspired by what others do i think it's a really dope feeling and i like what you did fr

Thank you. Primal Scream, The Stone Roses, and Happy Monday’s are often listed as proto examples. Surprised no one’s giving me s*** for Travis, Muse, and Coldplay. They’re listed at the end for the same reason the other three are at the beginning because they essentially function as the end point, what signaled post britpop.

The last song on the Stone Roses debut is a top 3 Madchester song

Yeah that makes much more sense than OK Computer. All the bands sort of faded by 2001. What people call post britpop begins around then.

Yeah Ok Computer and This Is Harcore just took things to another level but it was probably clear by 2000 that rock and rolls holy spirit had shifted back to the states and nobody in the UK was gonna be able to keep up with Radiohead (who were turning into Bjork)
