@HeyFella
First, are you the same Fidelio from KTT1?
Second, do you consider Stone Roses to be the stepping stone from post punk to Brit pop?
safe to say that the optimism of the Madchester scene (Primal Scream, Happy Mondays, Stone Roses) in general carried on to Britpop
even late period New Order and solo Morrissey
Dudes a loon. Legend of course, but a loon just the same.
he meant the way the media ran with it to add prestige to england at large and he might not be wrong
damn thanks to the government for giving us britpop i guess
the gays gave us britpop when their government still considered being gay a crime

It’s for sure a solid representation of “end of history” neoliberalism or whatever if you wanted to a***yze it politically but I think that extends to most promoted music in any era. There is something sort of melancholy and depressing about a lot of it, especially the Oasis stuff singing with this youthful optimism about living forever and life being great but now they’re just bitter old men.

yeah well he wrote that as a direct retort to Cobain's despair ("i hate myself and want to die") and here were are decades later with Noel still being the same dude he always was (which is a c***, not bitter). Suggesting he might as well have died back in the day instead of enjoying being a c*** is too fideliocore for me.

I never said that and never would. I think the Gallagher brothers are hilarious and I wouldn’t want them any other way. Only person I’ve ever said anything edgy like that about is Eminem lol
remember when i made this nearly a decade ago
well sir as you can see in the chart i deemed In It For The Money as "good" @HeyFella and yes it's definitely a step up from the debut

Might sneak into my 90’s list. Even the b sides are really good.

I don't think I checked those out, hit me with a few
Damn it’s been over a year. Summers winding down but it’s still hot as hell. I’m in that summery britpop mood. I need something new. Gonna run out of albums someday lol
