They kicked off the britpop wave. All of their singles fit neatly into that sound. Even Apple Music includes them on their “I Miss Britpop” playlist.

Yeah his solo stuff is usually included. Starting in 89 is what most written pieces discussing the wave do. I’m just extending it to 2000.
