In early 2010s you can find this same tweet about Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Drake, Big Sean featured on every song

    • French Montana and Meek Mill
  • Hip hop Twitter accounts may be worse than Reddit ngl

Niggas wanna cry about “all music sounds the same” but also just load up curated playlists rather than putting in their actual due diligence to discover exactly what type of artists they’re seeking. S*** is pathetic

    Blame capitalism

  • Herbo dropped one of the best albums this year and y’all didn’t even listen

  • Dec 4, 2022

White ppl who jumped on the genre in 2015-16 are finally getting tired of it and it's like music to my ears

  • Dec 4, 2022

When you’ve grown up with hip hop you realize people always call current era trash while nostalgic over previous era

And people in the previous era were calling it trash nostalgic over the era before that one

It’s a cycle that keeps going and going

Late 2020s gonna be nostalgic over this current era

I mean it’s currently looking like hip hop in the late 2020s is still going to be run by Drake, Uzi, Carti, and Travis. I don’t see any new artists successfully taking those lanes. The pure trap artists like Lil Baby and Gunna will probably be a thing of the past by then unless they find a way to innovate their sound.

  • Dec 4, 2022

I do wonder who’s the next rapper to be a staple feature on every mainstream album

Juice Wrld was already a superstar, would have been earth-shatteringly huge by now

well he died so did pop smoke as well which means theres less chance of any monoculture happening at best you will have many subgenres fighting for relevance

    It’s hard to predict

Even if Gunna & Baby aren’t around people will be nostalgic over them and call them better then whoever is around in late 20s

I’m just saying that before these artists blew up, people were saying the same thing (won’t be another megastar). You never know when someone’s gonna go meteoric

  • TheReal212

listen to more music then lmfao

Fr. It’s really that simple lmao.

We need a good hip hop beef like a takeover type moment right now

Thats the point. Getting nostalgic over worse and worse rappers cause the music just keeps getting worse and worse lol in 2030 when rap is left with a bunch of Lil Baby/Future/Carti babies you guys will be like missing the original versions. Its devolving, not evolving. And its all genres, not just rap. If you a fan of todays rap but you can't objectively say its the weakest crop of rap superstars then you aint a fan, you just blind

  • Dec 4, 2022

People just gotta admit they either need co-signs of some kind or a wave to start for them to give music a shot or they’re stupid and don’t know how to search for music. Fans can’t keep blaming music when it’s a new artist everyday.
