Thats the point. Getting nostalgic over worse and worse rappers cause the music just keeps getting worse and worse lol in 2030 when rap is left with a bunch of Lil Baby/Future/Carti babies you guys will be like missing the original versions. Its devolving, not evolving. And its all genres, not just rap. If you a fan of todays rap but you can't objectively say its the weakest crop of rap superstars then you aint a fan, you just blind

That’s opinion and I don’t like debating opinion on here cause ppl stuck in their ways and rarely change their mind

I’ll just say just of course it’s the worst for you cause you’re not growing up with these artists you’re already grown for others they’ll end up liking some of these guys better than the 2000s early 2010s artists we grew up with

I didnt grow up with 90s rappers but everyone knows thats the gold standard. Just like everybody knows MJ/Prince was golden era of pop or the Stones/Beatles etc..If you can objectively say something, anything, music has improved on--I'm all ears. Lyrics? Certainly not. Originality? Song topic diversity? Production? S*** I'm not even sure you can say that, either. Videos? Have declined severely in quality and importance. Hell as Sting said the other day--the bridge is nearly extinct now in music!

Only thing music has improved on is making it easier for us to consume it. The product itself has never been worse. Streaming been around since 16', never has old music been charting so much as it is now in 2022. Why? Cause those people growing up in the 10s are now old enough to look back and realize "damn we grew up with trash" lol but alas..agree to disagree

He’s not wrong… but KTT gonna start b****ing. This is why people like Ye, Kendrick and Tyler are interesting because they link up with everyone. The artists listed in the Tweet stay in the same circles and it gets tiring

Id say the average rapper flow and melody has gotten better than the average rapper in 2000s

My point is that people will always look back and reminisce instead of appreciating in the moment

Even people in the 90s were complaining about how violent hip hop lyrics were getting compared to before

Also I’d say old songs charting more now has a lot to do with how easily available they are now with streaming

We'll see in 20-30 years when people of the 80s are talking about the great rock bands, pop legends and MJ/Prince..90s are talking about Pac, Dre, Nirvana, Radiohead, Cube and BIG....00s about Ye, Wayne, Jay, The Strokes, all the indie bands and amazing pop music (and latin music).... and then you 10s and the 20s kids will be talking about.....drake, Kendrick Lamar, lil baby, Taylor Swift and bad bunny? like that horse painting meme.

    Lmao aren’t you a bad bunny d***rider?

Yeah I agree with you and the tweet. For any major rap album you kind of know what the features will be and how they'll go these days

    Nozuka

    Then don’t listen to them

It isn’t hard to avoid artists you don’t like or are getting stale

it’s hard when you like certain major artists but they only wanna work with the same 4 people

Music is the worst its ever been(all genres) and its been going on for a long time. Everything is sex, everything has to "bump in the whip", trash ass trap beats, same flows, stan culture etc.... KTT just keeps swallowing.

Main comeback is always "then you aren't looking hard enough for good music!" no s***, Karen. Thats the point

    Okay dis real Heep Hawp
