This dude is so f***ing Ill but the monotone style kinda makes it hard to listen. I f***s with doom super tough but I think dooms production, skits and his sense of humor all play a role in holding my attention. But I've heard ka spit some insane s*** his pen really is from another world.

I've had to back his tracks up many times like wtf did I just hear did he really just say that. And I've known of ka for a while but I didn't realize how good he was until I heard 30 keys I was like wtf

This is a fair (and common) criticism. I agree he’s really singular in his style, but I think the give-off is his pen is literally incomparable

I would like to see him be more adventurous w his style tho tbh, but I don’t hold it against him

Yeah I don't hold it against him it is who he is and how the f*** am I not going to appreciate a rapper that's cool, calm, collected and cold as ice. This dude is like jay electronica meets raekwon his rapping is almost conversational and he speaks with this conviction and confidence like he's enlightened or something. I just can't listen to him for long periods of time.

He has so many quotables it's f***ing insane there's like double entendres and internal rhymes all over the place he's on another planet. I'm sure a ton of it is going over my head as well.

Doom and gza is a good comparison as well. Doom has the monotone thing going on. And gza definitely comes off as this like calm enlightened genius. Gza and doom are probably some of the few rappers whose pen are equally strong imo, I'm not surprised that there a influence to him. I went with raekwon because ka be talking that d*** talk.

I would put doom above ka actually because he had world building down to a science. If you're talking about technical proficiency there probably on par. But dooms ability to build worlds create characters and be funny as f*** give him the edge imo.

Good point about GZA. Ka def reflects that calm and sure sagacity in his bars

I mean all three represent pretty different lyrical styles, but all are legends, and up there as the best for sure. billy woods, Mach, and Roc are there as well

I’m not one to rank artists like that, but I agree that DOOM was a real outlier and will certainly never be matched in his contributions to the genre

Ka’s more of the wordplay/slick talk guy, GZA the conceptual, and DOOM the absurd/witty

I think doom is top 5 doa his streak from operation doomsday to the mouse and the mask is absolutely f***ing nuts hard to believe he did that s***. It's all in fun, I think all three of those guys are real special in there own way and we're blessed to have there music. A guy like ka is very refreshing to listen to in this era and I'm glad someone still has the heart to rap like that.
