Look at it this way, rappers are like film directors they have the final say with regard to beats, lyrics, features etc… producers should definitely get more credit, but the full credit goes to person who made the song the way it is.

This true I accidentally played the black album accapella version on iTunes at the gym today like wtf
Why does this even exist
how far did you get before you realized it was the acapella version?
Which is why he’s had a string of hits ever since right lol
He hasn’t even put out a legit second single yet. And he’s vocals played a bigger part in that song blowing up.
simply because no one would listen to the beats if it wasn't for artists who jumped on it
I don't know much people who listen to beats on youtube just for fun
do you really think that Many Men is Eminem's song cause he's the one who made the beat AND mixed it? lol
also I'm almost certain that the type of people who listen to song and say s*** like "I like the beat ! " care about production the least
how far did you get before you realized it was the acapella version?
I think just when WMCIS came on.
Haven’t listened to the album in a while I thought it had just a long intro lol
the real issue is that the dude who made the loop/melody often gets no credit at all while the dude who downloaded it and made drums in 5 min is credited as the only producer of the song
How much credit does the engineer get
real mount rushmore of the 2010s is mike dean, alex tumay, 40 and ali stay woke
It’s a very simple reason:
We’re listening to/looking at another human when he hear them and see them perform. The music in the beat will affect our emotional response and even most of why we relisten in a lot of cases, but in terms of credit? Nothing can supersede the importance of hearing another human’s voice in a musical way
im not saying new hip hop music sucks but it seems like nowadays producers do 90 percent of the work in making a song. hip hop producers definitely deserve a lot more credit than the rappers.
And most people dont like to admit it but they mostly listen to hip hop songs for the beats
Flows play a giant part. You listening to beat tapes only?
lmaoo lowkey this is the convo people avoid
they lowkey deserve royalties because these nigga be sucking before the autotune and beat stutters and pitch drops lmao
This reminds me of the scene in Atlanta where the engineer just gets abused by rapper
Look at those Beatbox remixes
A lot were good, but most ain't have that energy that made the og as popular as it was.
He hasn’t even put out a legit second single yet. And he’s vocals played a bigger part in that song blowing up.
😂 nigga put out a whole tape lol
idk man I look up to producers more than most artists but I am also producer so that could be why
Niggas would never listen to an album full of beats
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I see what you saying but this got vocals all over it lol
And this album wouldn’t be the same without the vocal chops

Vocal chops aren’t raps tho he still using them as another instrument
That being said most times in “traditional” rap yea the producer and rapper are equally needed but in the last 5-7 years I’m just saying most of these niggas floating by on beats image and label budgets lol

I hear that
There’s a lot Future/Thug clones out here but there’s a lot of white boy producers getting gassed up/opportunities for doing s*** niggas did years ago
Just like there’s only a handful of rappers that cause a shift there’s only but so many producers not making generic s***. To find otherworldly sounds you gotta look outside the mainstream space just like with rappers imo
