I was thinking of doing the same OP. Not because I'm a major supporter of the 2A, but because after everything I've seen during these protests and the rhetoric Trump supporters are using, I'd feel foolish to not at least have some protection for myself.

Here is my thing about guns in America. Do I think that your average conservative is ridiculous about owning guns and their excuses for owning and entire household full of them? Yes.

Do i believe guns should be better regulated in the states in regard to who can actually purchase/own one? Absolutely

Do I believe banning guns will solve all issues that correlate to guns? Absolutely not.

Gun control fanatics hold the viewpoint from a place from fear i've noticed because of the surge in mass shootings in America. Fair enough, everyone should feel safe. But people are very entiteld in their feelings too. People who come from middle and upper class enviornments believe that this is lower class behavior and they shouldn't be subjected to the dangers. The problem is NOBODY should. If gun violence was 100% isolated to lower income areas you wouldn't see people push for gun control the way they do.

You take guns away thats not solving the issues of poverty related violence. People are going to find away to stick you up for your loot guns or no guns. You cant solve the problem of poverty violence without eradicating poverty. But its not about that, its about making middle class and upper class people feel safe in their safe spaces.

Until you have a gun pointed to your head you wont know the fear that comes with it. When you're defenseless and your life is essientally in the hands of another person. It is a feeling i dont wish on anyone innocent. I'm not even a gun owner myself for my own reasons but I plan to be a responsible one soon. I refuse to be defenselss in a situation like that again.
