Shiryu existed purely to beat the s*** out of people lmao
Didn't even need his eyes to do so lmao, he always took on the baddest mfs too
The manga pacing was fire too
yeah the manga is so so so fire. pacing is amazing, all the battles have so much weight. even tho buu's not my favorite i still find stuff to enjoy because the art is so tight
aint nobody got dragon ball as top anime in 2022
there's always that one exception to the rule
@be2 needs to hop on gundam or one piece or som
i tried Hunter x Hunter and got bored first few episodes lol
Still struggling on episode 9 or sum for Evangelion
You love the Matrix as do I but that movie took so much from Ghost In The Shell 1995 it’s actually pretty crazy
yeah i still have to see that one
and Akira
I've seen Akira kind of... but i wasn't paying full attention and legit slept through a whole part of it i don't remember much

its funny actually akira toriyama wanted to end it at freeza but they wouldn't let him out of his contract

i agree with the peak at Frieza part
i didn't pay as much attention to the Buu saga... life was way too busy at that point for me
I don't mind Super either i really enjoyed it in fact.

Nah I think he wanted to make Gohan the protagonist going forward but they wouldn’t get off Gokus nuts

The zamasu arc was decent, and pieces of the tournament arc
But overall it was lazy, s***ty modern art with little to no detail, everyone's skinny and twerpy, no blood, years pass but everyone including the kids look the same, barely any stakes or intimidating villains outside zamasu evt

LMAO
i wouldn't have minded Gohan taking the crown
but tbh Goku is my goat

Lol Gohan turned out to be such a dweeb, can't believe piccolo would let him go so soft

yeah totally fair, i would even add the pacing was way too slow
but idk man i just love the series to pieces, won't even act like i'm not biased
Lol Gohan turned out to be such a dweeb, can't believe piccolo would let him go so soft
He's in school getting good grades
can't say that about many on this forum (including me)
iirc freeza was intended to be the climax of the series and goku was supposed to die, leaving a gohan sequel story in the works if they ever paid him enough to get back into it. But Jump had just licensed the 5th movie (cooler) and the dragon ball z anime had the prime time spot on tv tokyo and was making money hand over fist, so the suits basically told toriyama no you aint quitting. After that he started writing without planning ahead and thats why the cell saga has 3 separate main villain reveals in the span of 10 chapters

Imagine if he got his way, but just turned it into a great sayaman villain of the week gag Manga
Hot take. Frieza was a good villain and all but Cell Saga was DBZ’s peak.
Better transformations.
Better fights.
Everybody got time to shine. Android 17 vs Piccolo, Vegeta turning SSJ for the first time and trashing the fat android, Trunks debut, The mo hawked Android learning about the importance of life, Gohan turning SSJ2 and murking Cell
its important and the manga is a masterclass on how to write a series, but if we're talking adaptaional anime. there has been better forsure
this makes me kinda interested in the mango
if i would start i would ideally want to start at Dragon Ball with kid Goku lol

Yeah, power levels got so out of hand in freeza saga since it was the climax it left him in a tough spot moving forward
