yeah i explained it in a different response, but basically after freeza he wanted to leave it open so another writer could do a gohan sequel series. then they locked him in for cell so he tried to set up gohan again. and then when they double locked him for buu he just said f*** it and wrote the sequel series. but by then everyone loved goku and gohan had such inconsistent characterization toriyama got cold feet and switched it back

Yeah, power levels got so out of hand in freeza saga since it was the climax it left him in a tough spot moving forward
yeah if you think about it, up until freeza the gokus arc is perfect and is completely fulfilled. it follows him from boyhood to adult as we watch him become the greatest fighter in the universe. super-sayain was supposed to be climax of the series; a once in a lifetime thing etc. its only after all that did the plot get super messy

I wasn't a fan of what they did with vegeta, on namek vegeta was that dude, was willing to do whatever it took to survive, from sneak attacks to ganging up on ppl ect, then later on he's suddenly this pretentious double who laughs at the idea of ganging up on cell, I get that super saiyan power made him turn ridiculously cock but namek vegeta>>>
