Yeah all the things you listed really carry the show, the script can be borderline awful and some of the actors really don’t know how to convey the scenes. I’m not sure I would’ve enjoyed it as much if I didn’t watch it all in one go and instead watched it week to week cause it takes a good while to pick up
Still don’t regret watching tho, I feel like the positives ultimately outweigh the negatives

Plane sequence was great in the theater and still holds up, rest of the movie felt like I could’ve watched at home
Denzel delivered as usual but nothing substantial about the movie as a whole tbh

That's when I brought up The Fountain when someone asked for textbook pretentiousness. Man has to steal to even "attempt to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed".

Edit: Nah I was wrong, they were in negotiations for Aronofsky to acquire the rights but negotiations fell apart due to the clause that Aronofsky was to head the project himself

The f*** you say about drive

I didn't like the way Ryan Gosling, that woman and her kid were acting. They were just so wooden and boring Didn't make sense to me that she would fall for him. They barely spoke and then it was suddenly scenes of them sitting in silence driving together and smiling like awkward first graders who have a crush on each other

Still have about 30 mins of the movie left but that first half was not it. Movie picks up around when Christina Hendricks shows up
