I know what you mean but it's sort of a different type of acting style (throwback to Bresson) where the characters are almost like just avatars to be plot devices and whether they really emote doesn't matter. It's also not necessarily that she fell for him but that she was magnetized to him with a primal survival urge. Letting those long pregnant pauses smolder was genius.
