I'll peep Legendary on HBO Max and then me and @be2 are going to watch bootleg Morbius on Twitch. #TheWayItsMeantToBeWatched

  • I stopped subscribing to Netflix paramount plus and peacock. Since my memberships expired paramount plus offer me a fire stick to get back on, and peacock offered me free movie tickets. Netflix hasn’t offered me s***.

You would be special if you could get me back into watching a series after what feels like a decade long hiatus

Obi-Wan Kenobi is so boring omg. There is maybe 5 min worth of plot and 50 min of filler and the other 5 mins are wasted on recaps.

    Tonight on Kinodrome

Ray Liotta. Your taste might differ between GoodFellas and Something Wild. However, Something Wild is a wacky comedy made in 1986 by Jonathan Demme. This film has some cult twist to it with the usual Demme flair which it works like a charm. Especially, Ray Liotta was starting out and his characterization nailed the type he’s going for and the future…

LMAO it's so boring... good lord. KTT knows how to hype up some BS. If you wanna watch it, just watch some 3 min summary of the first 2 episodes. You're really not missing anything. This is actually worse than Mandalorian so far. It feels like they had a movie and then tried to stretch it out.

I swear stuff like this might be the reason i don’t get hyped up about “blockbusters” or fans raving reviews anymore

i like in movies when people say “see you in the funny papers” when they’re saying a dramatic goodbye. Idk what the origin of this saying is and idk if anyone ever said it in real life but it’s a definitely a cheat code for movie writers from like 1940 to 2003

This Obi-Wan and Morbius actually helped me get over my pretentiousness because they set the bar so low. I'm now ready to sit through Moonfall and I might post my pretentious review here maybe...

Well it was original the first time around. Now it's just... I'm just trying to understand why they're pushing this space babysitter narrative for yet another SW spinoff. Like what audience are they targeting?

So... I watched Moonfall so you didn't have to. I thought I would post a long pretentious review but the last hour of this movie had me speechless... Like... Wow. It's like Roland Emmerich wasn't trying to figure out how to make the best sci-fi disaster movie ever, but how he could make the most sci-fi disaster movie ever. This is really a testament to the idea that just because an idea is stupid, doesn't automatically diminish its value and worth to society. Think of every sci-fi trope that has ever existed, it's there, in this fever dream of a film. It's The Mummy, Alien, 2012, Halo, Mass Effect, Armageddon, the Matrix, Elysium, Melancholia, Deep Impact, every Internet alien/UFO conspiracy ever, just all the ideas mashed together and Emmerich was tasked trying to string it all together into a plot. Did he do a good job? No. But to his defense, it's impossible to do so without throwing logic out of the window and this is exactly what this movie is. It's so, so stupid, so far-fetched, so unnecessarily over the top, and so misunderstood. This is simply not a hard sci-fi movie and reviewers shouldn't have gone into this theater to see it in that light. This is sci-fi fantasy and like once you realize that, and you lower the bar back to every sci-fi, fantasy or disaster movie ever, it falls right in the middle when it comes to storytelling. Oh the water in the oceans is going up because the moon is so close? Ok, cool. That was never an issue in other stupid movies so why do people take issue now?

Do the stupid things make the movie boring? No. Are they in the way of the plot? No. Do I want a sequel? YES! I just have to know where this trainwreck is going. Moonfall deserves a sequel solely because there's just nothing like it in an industry where everything has to be deep, believable and immersive or else you don't get one of the prestigious gold-coated awards blah... Sometimes mindless entertainment can scratch that itch and I don't see anything wrong with that (except Marvel, I hate Marvel). As a disaster/bad/divisive movie stan, I'd give this a 6/10 and I think the audience score on RT got it right as usual. This movie is not great or even good. But it's not bad either, it's just stupid and just because something is stupid doesn't make it bad.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk...

I generally hate these type of movies but modern apocalypse type movies can be some sort of guilty pleasure for me bc i just like to see things on such a big scale on the screen. Also i love the moon so should i watch this?

Even though my IQ will probably go even lower than it already is
