Everybody listens to music for different reasons. If you like an AI song your opinion isn't really invalid, but the whole stealing somebody's likeness part is really unethical
Instead of waiting 3-4 years for a Travis Scott album, labels could put out as many as they want per year and really saturate the market
My least favorite part of the AI music is that to me the best part of music is hearing the artists lived experiences and emotions put into the song. AI can fake that but it will always be fake and will never be as good

"Everybody listens to music for different reasons."
This is what I think people have a hard time understanding.
For better or worse, I'm not listening to music for a deeper, intimate connection with the artist. As bad as it sounds, it's a product to me.
Not saying this is right, but it's how I feel.

Smfh… ur not a #RealListener
Why does this make you so upset?
I just wonder why you’re on a music nerd forum if you see music as just product. You don’t have to have a parasocial relationship w artists to view it as more than product

Because I actually do love music and how it sounds. I've been on here since Ktt1 days circa 2009.
I like talking to other people about and hearing their thoughts.

Then you should understand why people are against AI music even if it “sounds good”. The fact that doesn’t matter at all to you as long as it sounds good is strange man
Why does this make you so upset?
It makes people upset cause if the vocal majority of people end up being on your side, the rest of us who prefer real s*** lose forever, with no choice in the matter.
Artists itt who wanna atleast try to make music for a living will never stand a chance, and real music will be harder and harder to find until theirs nothing but AI left
the stuff that these procedural generators make is not art by definition but the pearl-clutching and over-the-top hysterics is like a funny modern neo-luddism complete with its own set of morals.
basically music creation is one of the few industries that until recently was relatively immune to automated mass production and monopoly capture so what youre seeing is middle class "self employed" musicians freaking out that they might be replaced by a computer. which is both a self-own and a weird entitlement since what's actually somewhat at stake here is not artist's ability to make art but to profit from it.
Nothing to see here, op has a pattern of consciously disregarding the ethics of art. Not saying there’s not potential artistic merit to AI or that this is a statement on how I feel about AI in art at all - just that it’s from a shallow place in this case given who made the thread
know that musically creative people have a problem with the "artistic integrity", but honestly, I don't really care about all of that.
dont know why you entertain after a point like this.

You thought you were saying something here lmfao

@op asked why holograph performances aint take off LMAO
You gotta wonder how people like him even view humanity as a whole when they put artistic integrity in quotes.
You gotta wonder does he see every industry as nothing more than just a cog or a number in an assembly line willing to get to point A to point B.
Such a robotic and callous outlook on something as intrinsic as art is pathetic. As an actual artist I'd spit in your face real s***, you a b****.
just know that earth is just a rock without the voices of art

tell me what you think I'm saying

Nasty activity ew oh jeez my stars and my garters nigga it’s art mfs treat the dilemma of which blouses to get from Target with more humanity
tell me what you think I'm saying
Some silly pseudo intellectual bullshit
Everyone against AI Music gonna get a rude awakening within the next decade. This s*** is going to be a money printer for record labels and every artist trapped in a 360 is gonna have their posthumous likeness signed away.
Brace yourselves.

Everyone’s gonna be Gorillaz
I don't like the idea of just treating music as something that sounds good and thats it
It means more (to me at least) than just something that stimulates you and that's it. Just like how visual art means more than just pretty pictures to look at.
Unfortunately a lot of people (and the industry) do look at it as a pure product to consume though. Just something to have on in the background and not think too much about

Being against something doesn’t mean you don’t understand the implications of what it will bring

Ah yes, as long as you can make art there’s no reason to be concerned about AI because it’s all about “labor” and profit incentives
Thankfully this is why communism will never be taken seriously outside of the internet
