    2020 ass thread

Funnily ehough, due to Tik Tok, people are f***ing with Jesus Is King a lot rn.

The song "God Is" currently seeing a huge rise in streams.

You know Ye's a legend when his worst solo album still has people f***ing with it 5 years later.

But I never seen a forum turn on people as much as KTT2 turned on Ye, Drake, and Cole.

It's pretty wild to witness as a 2020 member here.

But at least the 2022 Kendrick hate phase has died down on here where people were calling him "fake woke" and saying "Mid steppers" every other thread.

    Donda erasure

I'll leave off with this too.

I don't think Ye's later output being below his prime is going to affect his legacy much because his classics and contributions/influence is already cemented in hip hop and music history.

I used to think the same way when I was younger but it doesn't work that way. People are always going to remember an artist's classics and associate them with that the most. This is especially true when the artists take a break and give people time to miss them.

There was a time where being a 50 or Wayne fan on rap forums was brutal cause you had a bunch of dusty "real rap" niggas s***ting on them constantly. They'll usually claim that 50 Cent was a fad, would be nothing with Eminem/Dre, Ja Rule made better music, one album wonder, can't rap, overrated, etc.

And they'd claim Wayne was "hurting" rap, was a pop rapper, had bad lyrics/bars, was gay(Birdman kiss photo), and that nobody would look back on Wayne's music fondly down the line. Some even hoped Wayne would die back when he had that seizure in 2013. I'm not joking.

Fast forward today and these "real rap" fans turned out to be proven false cause people still have mad nostalgia and love for 50 and Wayne's primes despite their musical declines.

Same is true for Ye. The nigga is selling out stadiums in Asia for a reason. When you hit a certain prime, you don't have to worry about your musical legacy being tarnished.

Let's say Ye never makes another 04-16 or even Donda/KSG level album ever again. It'd be sad for the fans but his legacy will still be in tact, especially if he takes a break and gives people time to miss him.
