Zappa real close though but doesn't have the consistency
sure, Zappa released way more but in total has more great releases imo. Not to ignore that Miles fell of hard in the late 70s.
Here are some of my favorite tracks of his:

That’s actually my favorite album of his lol. He Loved Him Madly is such an amazing soundscape it’s quite otherworldly
There’s no such thing as overrating Miles
just saying that the people there cannost sit among Miles is silly. Especially for people like Stockhausen or Mahler, who influenced an insane amount of musicians.
He helped pioneer dozens of genres, has more classic albums than any other artist I can think of, was an insane trumpet player, and he was just a badass motherfucker. Truly and honestly one of the greatest and most influential artists ever.
real.
He's probably my 2nd favorite jazz musician behind Wes Montgomery
REALLLLLLL
i love wes.

Ik for sure Stockhausen influenced Miles, but to say he was as influential as Miles...I wouldn’t necessarily agree.

his version of electronic music was actually the one that became popular during the 60s. He influenced basically anyone who was toying with electronics during that time. Especially the fact that his compositions were extremely ambitious led to him pioneering a plethora of sounds and methods to create them.
💖
Gotta rewatch this soon. I was high as s*** when this scene came on, started tearing up lmaoo
I would also nominate Quincy Jones as one of the most important musical figures of the 20th century
I prefer Coltrane but Miles Davis is GOAT too
I was listening to Ascension today...what an album

Miles on Burning and this Ali scene with Salif Keita are 2 of the illest scenes with music I’ve seen
