he wasn't one of the greatest even before lol

    true
My question was for people who used to say he was one of the GOATs before this beef

  • He was never one of my goat rappers. He will always be one of my goat artist.

  • Jul 14, 2024

drakes more a pop musician than a rapper, so is exempt from any goat discussion automatically

Drake got absolutely washed by Kendrick Lamar, and we all know he has a team of writers to write his music. He even takes full tracks from artists and just does karaoke over them (Mob Ties, Jumbotron).

Can people seriously say Drake is even in the GOAT conversation after getting absolutely dogwalked by Pusha T and Kendrick (2 of the biggest Ls in hiphop history btw) and also being exposed for having writers and reference tracks again and again over the years?

    Be honest.

U idiot u don’t understand da process, can’t just go around saying he singing peoples references

Well interesting topic as my take on it is definitely No..
See before the beef Drake was the 4th most streamed artist on Spotify peaking at 85 million while Kendrick sitting at 40 million less than half. After the beef Drake dropped 10 million he is now at 74 million which makes him the 13th most streamed artist while Kendrick running right behind at 14th most streamed artist with 73 million.
Well not for the numbers itself but as tell tale that Drake's fanbase or Drake's frequent listeners not only aren't loyal that lowkey subsconsciously throwing him under the bus as he slowly walks into oblivion while his repertoire is far from untouchable otherwise despite losing the beef as far as public perception goes his streams and reputation wouldn't take such a big nosedive as they did with a simple scuffle at world stage.
One other thing is that if we consider that the ones dubbed as the greatest such as Nas, Eminem etc by the time it got to their turn of facing their enemies or competitors they managed to overcome that successfully by winning the beefs on the other hand Drake under pressure he either failed completely or took a consensual loss to say at least so once again NO
Well nonetheless at this point I believe its safe to say officially that 2024 marks the beginning of Drake downfall as a public figure because as an artist it already happened couple years ago

He got outplayed by Kendrick for the battle, but he certainly didn't get out-rapped. I'm not sure why that would disqualify him from being one of the GOATs
