Ya the 5 years industry experience is a loophole per se where you can skip teachers college and even having a degree and u can just do the tests to become a certified teacher for ur industry. I plan on teaching programming in college.
I have three diplomas though, one from bootcamp, one from private college, and one from certified college (the harder one). The harder one I could of done a transfer to do 2 years uni to get a degree but f*** that.
That’s dope man, I applied to teach at my local community college recently 🤞
anyone ever do a career shift and go back to school full time?
trying to think about my career long term and if it's worth it

Yup. Talked about it a lot before I left here.
But beware people might pressure you into grad school

can i ask what led you to your career change?
do you think school was necessary for you to move into your new field?
did you take out loans for grad school?

For this field it depends how far you want to go. My position currently requires a BS/BA + some grad work. Everything I did prior did not need any degree. You can hold a certain title with just a bs but you're always supervised and make 60% what someone with a masters makes doing the same job
I wouldn't have fallen into it without returning to school. Profs/career center said it's just what a lot of students do and I set myself up well so it's working out at this point
You don't need school to be successful, I just feel like there's not enough jobs that pay well to be too picky if you don't want school/training but idk. My wife is a vet tech and it sucks. I used to be in trades but personally hated it, have numerous friends doing that and are well off though. Plus coding and stuff is possible
And yes I take out all I can then try to pay in enough to take extra classes. But I can't always do that

Anyone here in the print industry (not designing, but the actual printing process)? Apparently there's a skill shortage and I've gotten approached by a couple places to be trained. It doesn't seem like a high cap wage wise but would be good to hold me over.
