90% chance this is a Yachty collab album
a 2 album a year cycle for the next few years where the first one is a summer tape of him trying out new sounds and the 2nd one being a collab tape with another artist would be amazing

Interesting. I'm always here for music but he might be overexposing himself by dropping a new album this early.
A new album this month would mean 3 albums in the span of a year. Unless the music is really incredible and he actually makes an effort to push multiple songs off it. the era won't last long.
Anyways, we'll see what happens.

It was because that was his first collab album in 7 years. Dropping a new collab album every year would be too much. Not too many artists would flow well with Drake throughout an entire project.

Drake just needs to drop another More Life/Scorpion/CLB type of album.
Most people skipped Honestly, Nevermind and Her Loss was cool but it‘s a collab. His general public won‘t care if he‘s dropping again.

CLB felt like an obligation rather than a real creative effort. HNVM and HL have been in rotation and actually feels like Drake loves making music

He’s in a new phase of his career, he’s done with “eras”, he’s just gonna keep delivering the music
The last two projects were basically side projects, so if this is an actual “drake album” it’d be the first since CLB

Don't see him dropping two collab projects back to back tbh. That'll be OD, even for him.
If he's dropping a new project right before the tour starts, it'll be because he dropped a collab project back in November and wants a set of even newer songs that are by him alone which he can collab on tour. I bet 21 Savage drops his solo album between now and when the tour ends in October as well, so he too has some newer solo songs to perform.
Yatchy is booked to be on tour from July till December. I don't see Drake dropping a collab album with him, when he knows Yatchy and himself won't be able to perform together till next year probably. Makes no sense. Him spending time with Yatchy doesn't necessarily mean they're making a project together. They're just cool with each other and have always been and he just finally let Yatchy contribute creatively to his music for the first time (something he may not do as much on his next project before people start saying Yatchy is the one giving him all his juice).
Yeah I agree but there's been way too many weird hints towards a collab for a while now. The tour announcement video even ended on a clip of Drake & Yachty in the studio, which felt weird at the time
there's been rumours about them having a tape since a few weeks before Her Loss dropped as well, but i guess we'll see. I don't think I've ever seen Drake spend this much time with another artist tbh

Everyone hated on Honestly, Nevermind when it dropped and it flopped. It has nothing to do with being a „surprise release“. People skipped this album except the ones who loved this album since the first day.
What the hell are you talking about Her Loss? It sold more than enough first week but most people also don‘t listen or care that much about collab projects and it was never different. So many people who are listening to Drake don‘t give a s*** about 21.
If he‘s dropping another Scorpion/CLB you‘ll see what I mean
Her Loss sold 404k first week. Drake might do over 500k fw again if he‘s going back to his old formula and I think he will go back to it (just my opinion)
