This is his new arc so he can convince us he's making darker and more thoughtful music
yall really ain't s***
I thought he had ptsd from ye yelling at him
Ye got that shouting voice that make people who can’t argue without crying open the waterworks real quick.
Nigga I personally know Chance and his team.... They chill people. Sometimes dark humor is easier than just being like "lets discuss another mans ptsd and death of his friend" when many of you haven't seen triggers, someone die or any of those horrors. It is 2:30am on a saturday.
You expect a nuanced discourse on PTSD and everything that comes with it or for everyone to be like "wow I forgive him for the big day cant wait to see what he drops next"
This nigga @insertcoolnamehere has a no tolerance policy unless its boosie got raped in prison jokes

Nah this been his reality from the beginning. There was a reason he got in touch with religion again then his marriage was so huge for him. Again grounding after all the horrors he saw and the sins he felt he committed. To become the best him. His recent verses have been heartfelt focused. He has an upcoming collab album with Vic finally. He trying to be in a lane again. Has his Grammy. This is about raising awareness about black men and mental health topics which has been kind of pivotal to a lot of Chicago artist be it Kanye, Lupe, Vic, Saba, Chance the list goes on and on. Where they have all made a concerted effort to help people feel comfortable discussing mental health
Which includes PTSD, dealing with anger, deescalating violence, dealing with Chicago Police. All of those different things. Chance isn't just a music focused person because again as I said he does things for his community. Music helps pay the bills on occasion if he tours but he raising children and we still basically pandemic situation on full tours for a little where he would have to weigh if its even worth it.
He is finding purpose and if it helps him to be vulnerable about trauma can't be mad at it. Helps people see that "smoking opp packs" and the trauma chicago artist and other artist see isn't just a catchy song over a trap beat but a sad reality

Lol I know he a hypocrite. I know the s*** Singh posted and trolled on KTT1. I just kind of ignore them and keep it moving. Rather than make the thread revolve around awkward jokes or trying to call anyone out find ways to discuss the topic. Thats truly part of the problem with KTT2 at this point because people just get so used to "I saw them post like that there and I still hold animosity for some thread that happened in past and I am going to bring it up here". Like damn just go to therapy .
Again it shouldn't take Chance saying he got PTSD for internet to clown him less when if they listen to lyrics of songs and trajectory of any artist who goes from his beginnings to walking with Christ and trying to maintain a perfect image then you know already they going through something.

I mean yeah. It’s cool to joke around and have fun even if it’s dark but you always gotta keep it real and be able to see the situation for how serious it is. All the male elders in my family fought in literal wars and can joke about it. It’s just this era where people can’t seperate and do both.

Yo some of the replies in this thread really show just how s***ty this forum has become.

when people read currently battles with PTSD see how long ago his friend died in front of him and realize it still affects him some of them can't process that or don't have long lasting trauma or think that therapy or his amount of resources would help him come to terms with it. So it takes people time to process. Cause that death was 9 years ago for him and he has seen plenty of horrors since.
"My big homie died young, just turned older than him
I seen it happen, I seen it happen, I see it always
He still be screaming, I see his demons in empty hallways
I trip to make the fall shorter
Fall quarter was just a tall order
And I'm hungry, I'm just not that thirsty
As of late, all my verses seem not so verse-y"
Whole song had me in such a calm state of shock during my last semester of post secondary.
chance a good dude, wishing the best for him

"I don't know where people think I'm from, but I'm from Chicago. It's really just that," he said. "People wanna romanticize it and say, 'There's two sides to it, and it's a beautiful love/hate story of violence and music.' But it's really just a very scummy place where people don't have respect for other people's lives. And it's not gonna change until somebody, anybody, puts it right in front of everybody else's faces."
Chance has been saying this
For years. I think Dark days is dealing with the continued acts of violence and hearing about it happen to people he knows and kids. His interview clip is shown and its not like he breaks down crying its a discussion about mental health. Like he is okay and has a solid support network around him right now

He just bought a house
Said it before and I’ll say it again, Chance the Rapper needs to develop a serious heroin habit before recording any more music. This would be the best possible career move for him.
He would produce a deranged, dark, d***ged out experimental album that would be praised. He’d give grizzly accounts of life and the situations he gets into while being a fiend, and hustling pills on the side to fuel his addiction as people begin to distance themselves from him. Soon it would come out about his addiction and the media would be buzzing. Scandal after scandal would arise and he’d be the most talked about person in the world as he continues down this dark path of addiction and insanity. Then, he would get arrested for possession and do a stint in jail, adding credibility to the hard image he’s been trying to adopt for sometime. The #FreeChance movement would be like nothing we’ve ever seen before and it would spark an international conversation about how we treat addicts (rehabilitative vs punitive punishment).
Chance would get out, get clean, and become the face of the opiate epidemic sweeping North America, opening him up to even wider audiences and platforms. His first album after release would sell a million first week and be praised, as Chano explores a whole new realm of lyrical content reflecting on his past degenerate behavior and becomes a symbol of hope for millions dealing with addiction. This would be great for his image, solidify him as one of the greatest rappers ever, and create worldwide change that benefits millions for years to come.
The best possible thing Chance could do for his career is to start doing as much dog food as possible, as soon as possible.
Hope he can battle those demons and overcome that trauma, regardless of his future music trajectory
