If mental health exist on a spectrum then it can go from manageable to unmanageable. From good days to bad days. Etc
My ex girlfriend literally couldn't control her depression. There was nothing she could consciously do that made it better.
Nothing helped! Literally nothing and it got so bad that she ended our relationship because she thought she was ruining my life. If it was as easy as folllowing therapist instructions to manage it, she would've done that.
