I feel like artists are more likely than you think to trash their own art
Artistic doubt hit different
For sure but usually not publicly like that tho, although that also happens
In both cases it's a COPE but what u expect yk making music is a very personal thing
im ngl, niggas that use numbers to rank albums or to encapsulate their feelings on music always annoyed me tbh, regardless though, the album wasn't s*** because people used numbers to grade it
He is right about the dumbass numbering s*** y’all do.
But that’s not why the album is trash. It’s literally bad music. Horrible concepts. Terrible crooning and disjointed ass production.
yes the big day is terrible, although if chance is still able to view it in a positive light then more power to him I guess
i just hope his next project is a vast improvement
S*** I wish people still put numbers on s***. Now everything is either trash, mid, or classic with nothing else added lol

right? niggas will always be like "bro this is a 10, nah bro its a 7/10" like why don't you like actually explain your feelings and thoughts on the music instead of tossing out some arbitrary stupid ass number out?

Nah. That’s the same as having numbers lol.

What additional nuance would numbers provide?
Well he can’t take it back at least it seems he was true to where his mind was at that moment no matter how trash it is it came from the heart and I respect that

I don’t see what’s wrong with numbers
It’s someone’s own personal opinion of how good an album is relative to all the other albums they like
If you told me you liked Gunna’s album I have no idea what that really means but if you told me Gunna’s album is a 7/10 to you then I know exactly what that means
niggas fr hating on numbers now
What additional nuance would numbers provide?
It wasn’t a serious post lol

If it’s personal opinion then adding a number makes no sense. Just explain why it’s good.
Smart move on Chance's part. He's basically trying to divide people who like music here. Totally distracts from his own terrible career.
The best part is people who call music too subjective or abstract for numbers then tell people who use numbers how to enjoy it themselves.
Give me ratings over sales any day
It wasn’t a serious post lol
I like this copout answer. I’m gonna start using this
I like this copout answer. I’m gonna start using this
i was gonna say something about that post but decided against it niggas on this site are corny man
I get artists should stand by what they put out but sometimes you got to admit that you can do better
"They’re like a yearbook photo. You come in and you document who you are in that moment, and then you come back next year and you make another.”
Well that's where Chance really f***ed up. He didn't come back next year. He kinda let the album define him these years by not dropping follow up sooner.
