Tyler and Kendrick are a Em babies just to name a couple!

I’ll give you Tyler but not only has he abandoned that approach he actively preaches that he hates that era. Kendrick sprinkled some Em in here and there but was far from the reason he popped

I think what a lot of ppl aren't thinking about is all these rappers influence exceed hiphop.
y'all namedropping ppl only hiphop heads are aware of

Mans has literally no influence on the landscape of hip hop in any era shut up. Most records sold yes but minimal influence to the culture

rappers cite Eminem as an influence tho

Literally it’s a pitfall for every white boy to get inevitably compared to em if they start rapping

You can debate the extent but to say it was minimal at best is revisionist history

Yep and Wayne is Jays son. They both are cemented on that list and are honestly 1 and 2

    Who did drake influence?

He changed the entire soundscape of rnb and rappers singing. Weeknd said his sound was Drakes Toronto sound with a twist. Rappers stopped getting singers for their hooks and started doing it themselves. And yeah obv 50 did the hooks before Drake but rappers were still getting singers for hooks until Drake and 50 didnt impact rnb at all.

Think of how Kendrick, Cole and other rappers from the last gen got comfortable using their singing vocals even if they sound horrible
