I was thinking more about mixing R&B with hip hop but of course he was influenced by DMX, he took his style and made it his own

Honestly I’d probably put Ja and 50 above Pac in terms of the influence felt today, but then again I might put Keef above Pac as well because of all the dissing of dead opps. I’d have to sit down and really think about this lol

But f***.. Pac might be the reason for so many amazing diss records, who knows

Mans has literally no influence on the landscape of hip hop in any era shut up. Most records sold yes but minimal influence to the culture

    Em spawned his own subculture

Besides Juice, Kendrick and Cole.. who has he influenced in todays generation?

I love Eminem but I don’t think his influence is felt as much as you’d like to think.

Half of underground hip-hop from 2000 on

Agreed, I'd add 50 cent to the list of most influential rappers too.

    Hard to skip him tbh.

He’s not more influential than any of these names though

Dude he had a whole generation of guys dying their hair blonde

At his peak he was bigger than all this guys

    Who has he influenced?

    You’re white

Why are you people so narrow minded? He influenced every white rapper ever lmao.

And influential doesn’t just refer to having other rappers copy you when you’re talking about the entire genre of hip hop

He was one of the rappers who brought rap tot he mainstream.

I don’t even f***in like Eminem but if you weren’t old enough to be around for his peak then you can’t speak on it

“But I'm so cultivating, everybody replicate me, face facts
Dreadlocks, face tats, I'm the apex
I made the culture, what up, twin? They relate back”

Just a reminder Wayne is the father of every rapper today

eminem is a special case because maybe he didn’t influence hip hop today directly he was a source of inspiration for tyler, drake, and a few others but he wasn’t hugely responsible for them. there are entire swaths of people tho that wouldn’t listen to hip hop at all without him. like half the members of BTS said they wouldn’t make music period if it wasn’t for Em and they’re from korea so he’s influential in that sense

  • Sep 20, 2022

really idk if rap would be the dominant genre without em he was a rising tide that lifted the likes of 50, wayne, jay, drake, etc even tho they’re all incredible artists in their own right and plain just better aside from 50. hip hop wouldn’t be as big as it is without him

Tyler and Kendrick are a Em babies just to name a couple!

Kendrick is way more of a Wayne baby.

  • Sep 20, 2022

That's actually pretty respectable - it's hard to pick just 4 though, would've added DOOM or 3 stacks somewhere
