I think that’s a fair viewpoint but I don’t see how the context of this particular song is being factored into the equation. Not to go around in circles, but this song is not built to stream big numbers. Like, if K-Pop with The Weeknd and Bad Bunny couldn’t do it, no other Utopia song could do it, no Big Steppers song could do it, and Paint The Town Red had to catch on weeks later on tiktok to do it, I don’t see how we can say it came and went at this point

I personally am not because I understand it’s an album cut that’s not a true single.
But the average music listener isn’t making that distinction, so they’re gonna see the word Single and judge its’ success accordingly.
The average listener heard that song and knew it wasn't a standard single because the average listener knows what a hit single sounds like and has an idea of what will or won't work on radio, stop being disingenuous.
