Not responding to Donald but I hate when people say rap isn't taken seriously as an art form
That's exclusively within racist institutions cough Grammys that don't have history supporting other black forms of music as well (R&B, Soul etc)
Validation from these sources is culturally irrelevant at this point and if you personally don't take rap "seriously" then you have some internalized things to address
That just makes me curious which female rap artists he's listening to
""I hear Sexyy Red. I hear Ice Spice. I hear Tokischa. I hear all these artists, and I'm like, this is all good s***"
People that believed this probably wish for the era of Wayne compared to now, lol.
Rap became an investment sadly, at first it was the labels giving that mentality for obvious reasons but when the rappers started saying i’m only here for the bag f*** the rap game … it started getting spooky. Nobody wants to be apart of it anymore for good reason and the ones who make it gonna make their bred and dip
We need a musical genius who has been hibernating in a cave for the past decade, unaware of all trends and current events, come out and make the most refreshing and new rap album of all time.
RxNephew voice
Was rap alive when you was fetishizing asian chicks
Was rap alive when you made some s*** with Jaden Smith
Was rap alive on cable when you was makin' scripts
I guess rap died the day you ain't get paid for it
Would never say that ease of access would make any artform dead. Thats a ridicoulse take considering it's way more nuaned than that.
If he actually said it like in the title (I know he didn't) he'd be an all time smug d***head lmao. I'm imagining how it would even sound in an interview.
The 3 up and coming artists most likely to be superstars all died in the span of like two years
For sure didn’t help the genres popularity
xxx, juice, and pop passing is legit like if drake cole and kendrick passed in 2010 so crazy
Hes actually somewhat accountable for this in his own way
all of these artists are
""I hear Sexyy Red. I hear Ice Spice. I hear Tokischa. I hear all these artists, and I'm like, this is all good s***"
