The 3 up and coming artists most likely to be superstars all died in the span of like two years

For sure didn’t help the genres popularity

-doesnt realize we lost 2 of the biggest hip hip superstars in a 1 year span in the 90s and hip hop got even bigger

Last truly talented generation ended with Thugga, Future, Travis and Migos.

The Great Value Soundcloud rappers just started pouring in after that.

If Pop, XXX, and Juice were the "future" or "saviors" of hip-hop it was gonna die off no matter what.

cause hip hop is a commodity now and is treated like the #1 genre still, so while all this mid or forgettable s*** is dropping everyone’s witnessing the downfall be televised

Its not a downfall if all the big rap artists are still placing top 3 on billboard
Yall can just you don’t care for what’s releasing and that’s fine, but restating this tiring narrative is why Hip-Hop is always in a hot seat for debates
KTT aint makin a thread every week on why Pop/R&B is bland or how Afrobeats/Latino music are all copying the big artists albums, ppl who listen to those genres just run it up n vibe

"You get washed and old when s*** just sounds the same to you because you've heard so much. You know, I think the women are killing it because they have narratives. I feel like a lot of the guys, it's harder to have interesting new narratives now."

This point is interesting all narratives for men other than being from the streets are considered corny now. I don't think women in rap are exploring the narratives they could be tho

Whats the narratives he talking about

the music industry itself is at a downfall tbh, and the problem is those top 3 artist have been there for a decade with no new real big 3 to fully take its place, every rapper who blew up 2019-present is just hoping tik tok catches them at the right moment

He had to start singing because nobody wanted to hear this nigga rap. It’s dead to him brcause he couldn’t thrive in this new rap climate.

I think people in the climate today would love more music like Because The Internet which was Childish last mostly/relatively fully rap project. Lol it’s surprising he didn’t try to make a sequel given that all those things he spoke on are en vogue now

Him making Awaken didn’t have anything to do with people being tired of him rap lol
