I kinda see what you're saying. The GOP and pretty much all establishment politicians are masterminds of distractions who also uphold the status quo which prevents any significant change in the system. They are also the public face of politics and the ones that create and sign laws.

Disagree with that. There is such a significant difference in their social policies that it's unhelpful not to make a distinction at a time when Republicans are coming for abortion rights and the LGBT community.
