    Orthodox Christianity is the truth

    search and you will find

  • Jul 19, 2022

A lot of atheists or people of different religions sometimes see our individual mistakes and say ''You're Christian and you're doing this and that?''

yes, and we do much worse cause it's the mercy of God and not our accomplishments that will save us

we know of our tragic state of existence but we trust in the Lord and like the Scriptures say....God never brought shame to anyone that trusted in Him.

I’ve always wondered, why is Mary held in such high regard in some sects of Christianity? I understand that she gave birth to Jesus, but I thought she was just a regular woman, chosen by God, just like the other figures in the Bible. I went to a catholic funeral once, and they did an entire reissue complete with an insane amount of Hail Marys. Is it not wrong to deify a mortal human?

Mary had no sins other than the sin of adam and eve we all carry before baptism and even that was cleansed when their parents dedicated Her to the temple.

The first reason for Mary's Holiness is that even though she could refuse to be the Mother of God, she immediately gave Her consent...Her exact words were ''Let it be as you say'' towards Her calling

one of the other reasons is that She also had to suffer being pursued when Jesus was an infant and she also saw Her one and only Son die...as the angel told Her beforehand that ''A spear will pierce through your heart''

The mystery of Jesus Christ's birth is also part of that since while giving birth She remained a virgin (that is something regular people shouldnt be thinking of for too long tho)

Now...in my faith, Mary has shown Herself multiple times to people and Saints and performed miracles. We're also taught that right after God the 2nd most Holy existence, above even the highest of angels, is Mary.

The belief of Immaculate Conception states Mary did not have original sin from the moment she was conceived and that is why Jesus didn't either.

There's something else I want to bring up

Christ's physical pain during His passion is not the reason why there will never be anyone to suffer as He did.

It is that but also combined with the fact that Christ has the most kind, compassionate and loving heart beyond all understanding

even slapping Him is worse than me getting nailed to a cross a million times

and I bring that up cause movies and shows based on the passion of Christ overlook this and concentrate on the physical pain

That's a catholic teaching, I'm Orthodox and in my faith the only human without sin is Christ

plus, as I stated She was cleansed from that sin as child so at the time the Angel of God gave Her the message She had no sin

And the conception of Christ occured at the moment She gave Her consent

Note: I mean conception as a human, Christ as part of the Holy Trinity has no beginning and end but that's a different topic.

    Read this...

    ''The Symbol of Faith''

''I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the only-begotten, begotten of the Father before all ages. Light of light; true God of true God; begotten, not made; of one essence with the Father, by Whom all things were made; Who for us men and for our salvation came down from Heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became man. And He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, and was buried. And the third day He arose again, according to the Scriptures, and ascended into Heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father; and He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead; Whose Kingdom shall have no end.

And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of Life, Who proceeds from the Father; Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; Who spoke by the prophets.

In one Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins. I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.''

That is my entire faith and beliefs in one text.....also, to those who dont know, by ''Catholic and Apostolic'' Church we mean catholic as in whole and complete not the roman catholic.

Sundays in orthodox and catholic churches are days of liturgy and Holy Communion

and you cant have those without worship (protestants have no worship)

and along side God's name we also call out to Mary and our countless martyrs and saints.

so to be blunt, yes! we worship Mary. Cause the liturgy has the ethos that the Psalms of David have in repentance.......we're not worthy of Christ so we turn to His mother and beg Her to help us...and believe me when I say this, no son hates the ones that respect His mother....without her there would be no flesh of God.

Christ literally tells us to come to him. (Mathew 11:28) Just because we're not worthy of Him doesn't mean that He didn't come to save us.

who said we orthodox dont go to Him? we just humble ourselves and show our repentance while doing so

you dont walk up to your father when you make a mistake like ''sorry, anyways, see you later''....you go to Him with grief and hope and if necessary you have your mother or siblings intervene

    same principle with Mary
