It’s been reported that Nolan demanded a 100M production budget and the same amount for marketing, where did you get the 100M for headhunting Nolan from?

I mean idk I wouldn’t assume yet it’ll just break even .
Tenet came out when people were still deathly afraid of Covid, and it made over 350 million on a 200 million budget . And that movie got mixed reviews
I def think this can make a profit, people love going to see Nolan films
I immediately assumed the R rating would be bc Nolan was going to show us in explicit detail the horrors of a nuclear event - but nah, it's bc titties
Six story tall titties

Almost all of this is them giving Nolan an unlimited ability to make a career passion project. WB did the same with Inception and it set Nolan and WB up together for a decade.
Universal is investing money in Nolan himself here, not in Oppenheimer. Nolan won't forget what Universal is doing for him here (not studio's gone this far for him over a single film), and the R rating makes that evident.
There may be a chance that Nolan has several ideas for his next few projects, and Universal wanted to secure access to those as well.
