In the sense that either the album doesn’t get brought up as often as it should, or just is underrated in general to me
big L lifestyle of the poor and riches
lox debut album
z-ro and trae it is what it is
that’s actually crazy when you put it into perspective he was genuinely better than JAY-Z around the same time period @Water_Giver
!https://youtu.be/9dN3aS2Rxfs?si=-nUXhTeHPWtU9nzkhe got rinsed on here
Crazy story. The dude that killed Big L, Gerard Woodley, is on his album artwork.
Allegedly Big L was running around with the dudes that were killing niggas in Woodley's clique, and according to Cam'ron, Big L tried to kill Woodley the week before Woodley killed him. Cam was cool with both of them that s*** must have been wild. Other people that knew Big L pretty much said the same s*** as Cam.
A documentary on Big L probably could never be made cuz it might ruin people's perception of him
That heltah skeltah album is insane
Really underrated, wished them and the rest of the BCC never moved away from Beatminerz production for the next albums.
For such a large tracklist it’s a really consistent record tho with a bunch of highs
This don't make it a classic to be honest, it could just be a great record
Bro I ran back that DPG album like 5 times when it finally returned to streaming services awhile back

Yeah L was really a goon. People try to paint it as "Fuck that guy for taking Big L from us" but it was way more complicated than that

it’s the reason why every time L gets brought up on Mace and Cam’s show they don’t speak highly of him AT ALL

Yeah, Big L gets lionized and I understand why but when people that actually knew him talk about him it sounds like he was kind of like Harlem's King Von
yo I made a thread years ago when that calm pete album got a re-release but it got no motion, glad to see it here

Im always up to discuss Rap and music in general in a frfr sense, especially Rap im deep in that s*** heavy and imeven irl back in the 2010s. Hole in the wall 20s dollar concerts, lil beat/rap battles & mistape surfing heavy - plus coming from in growing up in a heart of hiphop along with having some family with decent strides in Rap music helps a lot
I used to do a lot of threads like this back on ktt1 as well and what made my account "poppin" in ktt
Unfortunately theres not a lot of opportunity to discuss this kind of ish nowadays
Salute to people like @Aquilla @AudioConsulting @FlyHiii n shrem (cant find his @ lmao) and a few other that do still do dope threads every now and then n lets me get my essay skills n knowledge some practice here n there🌡🙌
