That’s kinda different tho cause it’s a whole band making those two albums. Tyler is just one dude. I’m thinking of like Pharrell just on his laptop or keyboard workstations going up against Tyler. Tyler would probably make the more impressive beat but that’s just me.

Its just one person versus two lol i mean if u mean specifically pharrell i guess but i think pharrell could make sweet with no problem lmao, he has some crazy s*** like I Really Like You Girl, Gush, Brand New etc that are solo production

Tyler is just my preference I guess. SWEET just feels like endless bridges and it’s constantly evolving it feels like more live and less loop based like the songs you mentioned (which I love btw). Idk I go hard for Tyler’s prod skills on this forum cause it feels like people are a little too dismissive of how good he is at production.

Yeah but doing that is counter productive bc u got me even the biggest Tyler stan going against him when u say stuff like that but i respect it tyler is an amazing producer anyone w a brain knows that

Not to say it isn’t as impactful or influential as any beat that Pharrell has made. But as far as arrangement/chords/instrumentation it is way more impressive. From the perspective of a musician it would be way easier to remake any Pharrell beat than it would be to remake SWEET. Especially if you count SWEET/ITYWTD as a whole song with all the little transitions and everything.

pink + white s***s on that trash ass song lmao

the instrumentation is way more impressive. sweet is just a boring song that mopes about for too long and doesn’t ironically sound anywhere as sweet as pink + white. all them chords and bridges for what if the song is crap

idk I just listened to SWEET again and it looks like you’re wrong. There are just way too many layers in SWEET. The vocal performance in Pink + White is what would make it the better song. SWEET definitely does not mope there is like a new element added every 30 seconds or a beat switch.

Every Tyler album gets treated like the greatest in the history of music for a weekend and then gets trashed after that. It's like having a crazy wedding in Vegas that nobody remembers every two years.

I fw CMIYGL it's just crazy how this always happens

He’s grown into his own style
He has P influence and probably always will but people who say that he’s just biting don’t understand

He’s heavily influenced by him. I see nothing different from what Pharrell used to do.

I mean the second part is a sample and I could just be ignorant but Sweet sounds simple. But the thing is, is that it doesn’t hit like Pharrell’s did back then.

Tyler was biting Griselda, Drake, Push and Pharrell big time on this project

just like Rocky bit DJ Screw, Big Moe, Bone Thugs, Three 6, and UGK on his debut

yeah Greta Van Fleet is “influenced” by Led Zeppelin too fam

Massa the only song on the project where Tyler is being original

If you’re combining the sounds of multiple other artists that’s influence not biting

How can he be biting westside Gunn and Pharrell when neither sound alike

Even if he’s not biting it’s still the same album. Pharrell’s beats on that album are way more interesting
